 Evaporation When water evaporates into gas or vapor by
heat

Transpiration The evaporation of water through minute

pores, or stomata, in the leave of plants

Precipitation All liquid and solid water particles that fall

from clouds and reaches the ground

Seepage When water slowly moves through soil and

rock before being stored underground

Extraction When water is taken out for human

agriculture or other human uses

Fire When organisms die and decay, their carbon

is released back into the atmosphere again.

Photosynthesis Plants take in carbon dioxide out of the air

through photosynthesis, restoring it to the
ground.

Burning Fossil Fuels When burning fossil fuels, most of the carbon
enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide.

Decomposition Decomposers break down the dead materials

from the plants and other organisms and
releases it back into the atmosphere.

Respiration Animals and Plants give back carbon dioxide

to the atmosphere through cellular respiration
where the plants take in carbon dioxide and
release oxygen. Animals and Humans take in
oxygen and then release carbon dioxide back
into the atmosphere.

Nitrification Nitrification is the process of bacterias

converting nitrogen into ammonia and nitrate

Lightning Lightning converts nitrogen into ammonia and

nitrates.
Decomposition Decomposers converts DNA and proteins into
ammonia and nitrates

Denitrification The process of bacteria converting ammonia

and nitrates into nitrogen.
