Sir, do you believe that a man could be baptized and believe in Christ, then go and slaughter one
hundred people, dying in the process and still go to heaven, because he believed in Christ and was
baptized?

As much as i do not support any violence and i believe someone who does this should be punished. I
believe if i was the judge then this person should be condemned.

But God is the Judge and Jesus is the saviour.

Scripture is clear that he will raise the believer up on the last day. He proclaims that no one will
snatch the believer out of Gods hands.
Jesus promises the believer eternal life.

So the answer to your question if i believe that. According to scripture yes this person is saved for
eternity.

BUT my question is if a person commits such horrible crimes then he should be following Jesus, but
as i mentioned its not a requirement for salvation. Our only requirement is to believe. And then
through the holy spirit comes sanctification.

I dont meant to upswt u with the answer but i believe the bible and the grace of God. I do not lean
onto my own understanding but his.

W. P. Wolfe there is many interpretations in regards to james.

One thing is that the bible can not contradict itself. If the rest of scripture is tslking about faith alone
then we need to look into it.

Ephesians 2:8 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of
God:

That scripture alone contradicts james yeh?

ohn 6
:37 - All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise
cast out.

John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man]
pluck them out of my hand.

John 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me,
hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 1 1:29 - For the gifts and calling of God [are] without repentance.

So do these hey?

So you need to look at james 2 and take a step back and look who it is directed to.

Here is a video that may help.

Because if the bible contradicts itself, we need to ask then, is there authority in the bible.

So many catholics i speak to are so prideful in their traditions.

Over the last few months i have looked into rcc and i was completely shocked.

To see how currupt the organisation is and the deaths it has caused.

Im not saying this to attack any current members of today.

Did you know that rcc has killed more ppl in history then any other organisation?
Did you know the pope supported the killing of the jews that hitler ordered ( pope wrote a letter to a
jew saying that this is your punishment)
Did you know rcc tried to burn every bible and tried to kill or torture anyone who opposed the rcc.
Did you know about the inquisition which is the most inhumane moment in human history.
Did u know it wasnt till after the 10th century when it was discovered that catholics should pray to
mary over Jesus.
Which implys she is more powerful than God.
Did you know constantine tried to combine all the pagan religions together in rcc so he could be the
almighty ruler ( look at all the idolatrys in which is part of rcc)
Has any catholics looked at all the medievil torture devices that were made to murder ppl who
opposed rcc. And did u know alot of catholic monks were the ones handing out the torture?

There is so much corruptness behind this powerful organisation.
And its only fair how the rcc is coming under so much scrunity now around the world. More and
more is getting exposed about this organisation.

Throughout history it has installed different beliefs that has fooled the world.

This is most definitely not the work of God. All the past popes through out history has tried to kill
christians that were opposed the rcc. This is a form of antichrist there.

I dont want to be blunt or anything.
I havr a open mind on anything i sincerely do. And i like to learn about history.

But when u look into rcc, they have murdered more ppl than any other organisation in the history of
this world.

I just dont understand how this can be so powerful in the world we live in

I pray that this place will become more exposed for the crimes it has commited through history and
also today.

Bless anyone who reads this.

Mister Sparks,
I am sorry for not replying until now.
I know this is a very long reply (I had to make it into 2), but please read it thoroughly and take it into
entire and open consideration.
Ephesians 2:9 "It is not through works, so no one may boast." First of all, I'd like to point out that
Catholics do not believe that their works are what have saved them. This would defeat the whole
purpose of Christ's incarnation. John 3:16-17: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God
sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be
saved." Neither Faith nor Works merit Salvation; This is why Christ came to Earth, because only he
could atone for the sins of the world. However, as Christ said, the way to apply that merit to
ourselves is to believe in him: which is called Faith. Catholics believe this. However, what James is
saying is that a man cannot have true Faith unless he carries out his faith through works. If a man
murdered several people, that would mean that he did not truly believe in God's just punishments or
His abundant Love.
The only way to have real faith is to know him, and "The way we may be sure that we know him is to
keep His commandments."(1John 2:3) Keeping the commandments is a work.
This is all that James is saying. I would like to invite you to read the entire Bible passage:
"14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith
save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto
them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which
are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being
alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy
works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou
doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father
justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith
wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 23 And the scripture was fulfilled
which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was
called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the
messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so
faith without works is dead also."
Sir, How could this be interpreted in different ways? I invite you to share with me, your interpretation.
Verse 9 gives my original argument perfectly: Even the Demons have Faith yet tremble. Faith is
merely knowing that Christ is God. It is not until Fear of the Lord, a manifestation of Faith, "is made
perfect by works."
James, and thus also the Catholic Church, states only that one cannot have living Faith unless
perfected and justified by works. It is by this Living Faith alone.
Romans 1 1:29. Again, I would like to invite you to read the entire passage. If you interpret this
passage as "all are saved by God's gifts and call," you might as well say that non-believers are saved.
Paul was stating that, though they had greatly sinned in the past, they would turn away from their
godlessness and be saved through the irrevocable gifts and call of God. God's mercy is for those
who Truly believe in Him. But do not the Devils believe in Him? They too have faith, but it is dead
without works. The devils have not the True Faith by which the truly faithful one "has eternal life and
will not come to condemnation."(John 5 :24)
"...I will not reject anyone who comes to me."(John 6:37) People come to Christ for forgiveness.
Christ does not reject those who truly believe in Him and are truly sorry for their sins. One can only
be truly sorry if he intends with all His heart, to do penance for his sins. Is it possible to have true
faith, not the faith which the devils also have, and not be truly sorry for sins, thus doing penance by
works?
This was James' point. I'm open and interested in hearing your interpretation of James 2 :14-26.
Enlighten me please. None of the verses which you and I have used contradict each other. There
can only be one truth. I believe that Luke 1 3:24-30 (Christ's own words from the KJV Bible) sums up
what I am saying:
"23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to
enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand
without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto
you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy
presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence
ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth,
when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and
you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the
north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And, behold, there are last
which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last."

Please read my entire reply and don't just attack little parts of it. [Some] Protestants, unfortunately,
like to take only [sections] of messages and passages, including the Bible, and direct it against the
author as their argument. Please take into mind everything I've said; please take the time to read the
entire verses, even though I'm sure you have already.
This sums up what I've said so far: Many protestants misunderstand what Catholics believe about
faith, works, and salvation. We do not believe that works save us, nor even faith. It is Christ alone
who atoned for our sins, and this is why he came down from Heaven. However, we apply this
atonement to our souls by truly believing in Him; He who truly believes, unlike the devils with faith,
manifest their Faith throw keeping the commandments of God, and applying the teachings of Christ
to their lives. This, my brother in Christ, is faith with works. This is what the Catholic Church
believes.

I do not know why you are attacking the history of the Catholic Church. The Church consists of
Human beings and many human beings are corrupt. Thus some parts in history will also be corrupt.
Yes this is very unfortunate, and sadly it is what turns many protestants away from the Church
instituted by Christ. There are good Jews and Bad Jews, good protestants and bad protestants, and
there are good Catholics and bad Catholics. Let us not forget that the Jews themselves fell away
from God several times; but did God desert them? Were they then not the chosen people? "The
kingdom of Heaven is like a net cast into the sea, and gathering together all kinds of fishes." When
Christ founded His church, it was clear that it would be "A visible body or society of good and bad
members."
Here are some supporting verses that I invite you to please check out completely:
John 18:36, Luke 1
 2:32, John 1
 0:16, John 2
 1:17, ***Matthew 1 6:18***, Matt. 1
 8:17, ***Matt.
28:18-20***,
and separate from the Gospels, Acts 2.
When you read these verses please read several verses above and below also, and please read them
all.
Returning to the main topic, two of the books of the Old Testament, which the Protestants removed,
are 1 & 2 Maccabees. These are historical books about the destruction and corruption of Jerusalem
about 100 years before Christ. These historical books show one example out of many how the Jews
fell away from God and into evil practices. However, did this make them not the Chosen People, and
the "ancestors" of Jesus himself? There have also been many horrible corruptions in protestant
churches; the reason that they do not stick out as much is because Protestantism is so disunited.
Since the Catholic Church has remained united since Christ made Peter the first Pope and the
Apostles the first bishops, (Matt. 1 6:18, Luke 2
 2:19, Matt. 2
 8:18-20), many people have judged
Christ's Church according to the works of the few corrupt Popes and bishops. The Popes and
Bishops have always been human just as were the Jewish Kings who fell into corruption. Do we
judge the chosen people of God by this?
You said that Catholics are prideful in their tradition, but are the few evil works of evil members part
of our tradition? Please point out any Doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church that are corrupt. I
invite you to do this. The Jews had tradition. Were the acts of the corrupt kings part of their
tradition?
Also I invite you to point out any of the corruption which you have stated that now take place in the
Catholic Church or has ever been [taught] in the Church.
Corrupt things have happened in the Church over the last 2,000 years, but does this make the actions
of the Church present corrupt?
The Church did not commit those crimes; individuals, who [claimed] to be catholic, committed them.
Let's say a man from your church commits manslaughter. Does that mean that you and your church
committed manslaughter?
Of course the Church, in the last 2,000 years has had great sinners, it consists of humans; not all of
its members will stay true to its teachings.
I would now like to point out that the Church has also saved as many lives and more importantly,
billions of souls. Take for example one small member of the entire Catholic Church: Mother Teresa.
The Church has contributed more Charity than any other organization in the history of the World.
Moving on. Catholics do not pray to Mary over God. I invite you to attend a Catholic Mass and see if
the name of the Mother of God is mentioned even once. This is a falsehood fabricated by
protestants to scare other protestants away from the Catholic Church. Why then do many Catholics
pray the rosary? The rosary consists mainly of the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the Glory be. The
Hail Mary mainly consists of these two Bible Verses: "Hail, favored one, the Lord is with thee,
blessed art thou among women"(Luke 1 :28) and "Blessed art thou among woman and blessed is the
fruit of thy womb"(Luke 1 :42). These are the words of Gabriel and Elizabeth. The second half is this:
"Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death." Mary was the Holy
Mother of God, do you object? asking Mary to pray for us is no different than asking a fellow
parishioner to pray for us. Except the fact that she is the Mother of God, whom Jesus always obeys.
When Mary presents an intention to God, how may Jesus refuse it. (John 1:1-11, Jesus performed
His first miracle reluctantly because Mary told Him to; Luke 2 :50, Jesus reluctantly obeyed his
parents and left the temple) This is why we ask Mary to pray for us. Jesus, in fact, gave us Mary as
our mother in John 1 9:27.

Mr. Sparks,

Thank you for the effort and the replys.

Not sure if you have read the whole comments section of this feed.
Some.of us protestants have been callled nasty words by ppl defending catholics and thats why i
wrote bluntly my research of rhe catholic church.
I havent personally insulted anyone on here but u will see us protestants have been personally
attacked.

I really appreciate what u have written.
I will study and look into it
Us believers who believe in once saved always saved get a bad review. What i mean by that ppl
assume that because we preach it that they believe we encourage ppl to live in sin and that we
purposely live in sin. But this is not true. I dont know any fellowship that would promote sin and to
live lik3 this. Its often the protestants that r preaching at abortian clinics, feminist rallies, clubs, gay
events, festivals etc, and they r preaching on sin and the importance of repenting of this life style.

So we truly believe in not to sin and we truly believe in holyness, but we truly believe in Gods grace.
And through faith alone we are saved, and through our saving faith we become sanctified. And this is
a process and journey we take in life.
But we also believe no small work or massive works will never seperate us from the gift of salvation
from God.

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

We are all sinners and we can not avoid this at all. Thats why we need to confess that we are a
sinner and that we need Jesus. He is the lamb that takes away our sin
.we can never do this ourselves. Its through Jesus alone.

1 John 3:5-10 - And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

James 2 :10 - For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all.

Thats what we believe.

Thank u heaps for rhe discussion and your loving reply.

You can see how much love u have.
I will read and study it my friend

Yes, and thank you. That is the nice thing about having arguments with other Christians, we may not
agree on certain things, but we both have the Love of Christ our savior alone in us. God Bless us.
On only being saved through Jesus Christ I, and the Catholic Church, completely agree.
Us Catholics Get a bad review too. All Christians should above all be loving to one Another.
"Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your
neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”"
(Matt. 2 2:37-40) :) :) :)

On being harassed, I am very very sorry to hear that. Please do not judge the entire Catholic
Church by its worst members. This is my greatest sorrow, because, yes there has been many very
corrupt people in the Catholic Church. When I was preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation,
many young men and women in my class were very indifferent. This brings me sorrow for two
reasons. First for their own souls. And second, when these people claim to be Catholic, they set a
bad example and give those around them a bad impression of the Church. Unfortunately this is the
case with probably about 1/2 of the young "Catholics" that you may encounter. I went to a private
Catholic School which teaches Catholic Doctrine, Morality, Sacraments, Apologetics, Bible Study, and
More. However, most of the young "Catholics" in my town go to public school which has an
extremely negative impact on their Faith. Please pray for people like this. It's not just Catholicism.
Today's Society is becoming very very Anti-Christian. My point is, many "Catholics" whom you
encounter will not be properly instructed in the Faith, the result becomes indifferentism.
At the same time, I can't say I'm not guilty of judging. Many protestant Churches in my state
support abortion, gay marriage, and other anti-biblical subjects. I will not judge you in this way :).

Have you ever heard of St. Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body? It is very beautiful,
biblical, and life changing. It is about God's intent for sexuality. The reason I bring this up is this:
Many people are turned away from the Catholic Church because they think the Church hates gays
and is against all sex. However, the Church (When those in authority are doing what the Church
instructs) welcomes confused people into their arms like the Prodigal Son. And in regards to sex,
the "Theology of the Body" will reveal the Catholic Churches actual teachings on sexuality. If you
find the time to check this out, you will find it very beautiful and intriguing. It is very sad how much
confusion there is about sexuality in the world. I everyone knew what God really intended for it,
many many problems would be solved. This is my reason: Sex is what creates the Family, the
Family is the foundation of Society. "It is not good for man to be alone", male and female, we are
made for each other, and it is beautiful. In fact, If everyone had the views of the Catholic Church on
sexuality, they would see that sex actually brings them closer to God, when used in the way that God
intended.
I'm sorry, I am a very scatterbrained person, and that what very off topic, but I just wanted to put that
out there. Just an example of one of the many subjects which the Catholic Church has beautiful
views on. But most people do not know this.
I hope that the beautiful views of which I refer to are more exposed so that this organization may be
seen as it really is ;). If you want details or examples I would be so happy to share with you. Also I
love having discussions with other Christians. Please Email Me @

Tim Spangler,
Sorry,
For some reason my computer didn't show your replies until now.
1. That message was to "Mr. Sparks", I simply was summing up Catholic beliefs on that verse. We
were talking about faith and works. This is a big misunderstanding between many protestants and
Catholics.
Many Protestants think that the Catholic Church believes that salvation is merited through works.
This is way out of line with it's actual teachings. (I advise you not to judge the Catholic Church by
the words of "claimed" Catholics on what the Church believes unless they use quotes of actual
Church Teaching. Especially online, It could honestly be anti-Catholic trying to stir up hatred for the
Church) The Catholic Church believes the same that you do about Salvation: It is only merited
through Christ Our Lord. However, it is the way we apply this merit to ourselves: Through [True]
Faith. Faith is manifested to be true by works (Following the Commandments and the teachings of
Christ). :) What I was saying was this:
Faith → True Contrition for Sins → firm purpose of amendment → Penance (Showing God you are
really sorry and want to "make up" for your sins) → Works
(When a Catholic says "works" they don't mean leading a "perfect" life. :P)

2. The Church doesn't cover it up. If they did, why do Catholics know about it and feel sorrowful for
their brethren fallen into corruption? Please Tim, present to me proof that the teaching of the church
was to murder. Also, their were many Catholics killed in WWII. It is my greatest sorrow that certain
men in the Churches hierarchy were very corrupt. However, please present to me evidence that the
Catholic Church actually contributed to the holocaust. Also, the "Catholic Monks" that contributed to
torture were not Catholic at all. Since the Church, of course, was open to all, it was sadly easy for
power hungry men to become priests and monks not for the sake of the Catholic Church but for
greed, as the Church became in the darkest ages too close to state. Those were government
officials, not Catholics.
Praise be Jesus Christ! The Catholic Church was indeed eventually able to pull itself away from this
horrible corruption. This is what the protestant reformists should have done, not entirely break away
from the Church instituted by Christ (and then go so far as to pick and choose which original
doctrines and books of the Bible they wanted to believe in). :(.
This is the simple truth: The Catholic Church was leading men to God. This infuriated Satan.
Satan attempted to destroy Christs Church by tearing out its heart.
Over the years, only by the assistance of the Holy Spirit, did the Church pull out of this wicked
snare of the devil.
Please show me a way that the Church present (and not individual members) is corrupt.

3. To say that the Catholic Church has not saved souls is to say that the original spread of
Christianity in the early Church did not save souls. It is to say that the Mother Teresa gave her life in
vain. It is to say that all the Sacraments instituted by Christ did not even help with human morality (I
would advise you to stop listening to the lies of other protestants about the sacraments, get the
information from the actual Catholic Sources, see the what the 7 sacraments of the Catholic Church
actually consist of. Everything spoken and performed is either directly from scriptures [mainly the
Gospels and epistles] or tradition in correspondence with scripture.) I can give you many other
examples if you want them.
Tim Spangler, If I cannot show that The Catholic Church has saved millions of souls, how can you
show that Christianity has saved any souls?

Many Protestants think that Catholics are exclusive. This is very sad :(, and very false. We love all
our Christian brothers and sisters, and only argue with them because we love them and want them to
find truth. Not to make ourselves feel better about our separation from contradictory truth... think
about that...
Here is an example of how the actual Church treats its fallen away brethren:
"Those who are hampered by invincible ignorance about our holy religion, and live honorably and
uprightly, keeping the natural law with its commands (which are written in every human heart by
God), being ready to obey God, can attain eternal life with the help of the power of divine light and
grace. God clearly sees,
searches out and knows the minds, hearts, thoughts and dispositions of everyone; in his great
goodness and mercy he will on no account permit a man to be punished with eternal torments, who
is not guilty of voluntary sin." (Pope Pius XI).

4:13, "whoever perseveres to the end will be saved"

"Also, why does Jesus tell the sheep in Matthew 25 that they can enter heaven because they were
merciful but those who were not merciful cannot enter?"

Here's another one:

Romans 2 :13 (KVJ): "For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall
be justified."

(1) YOU merit the salvation...whether you think Jesus has enabled you to or not.
(2) You are completely correct, the Catholic Church doesn't cover up the reality of the many child
raping priests. The reason they dont is because THEY WERE CAUGHT RED HANDED AND IT WOULD
BE FOOLISH TO HIDE IT NOW
(2a) And of course that isnt what I said/meant. They DID cover it up for DECADES...until the cat was
out of the bag

Wolfe,
(2b) I have to prove that the Catholic Church publicly teaches murder? Or child rape? Huh? No
culpability if you don't publicly approve? Covering it up doesn't matter? Yikes!

Tim Spangler,
you have opened my eyes. I'm now going to be an agnostic. This is my reason: If Catholic and
protestant individuals have committed grave crimes, that must mean that Christianity as a whole is
guilty.
Here is a list of a few Religious leaders who have committed major crimes, some Catholic, mostly
protestant:
Tony Alamo Shoko Asahara Wayne Bent Graham Capill Matthew F. Hale Warren Jeffs Jung
Myung seok
William Kamm Ervil Lebaron Alice Lenshina Jeffery Lundgren Charles Mason Shukri Mustafa
Fred Phelps
Swami Premananda of Tiruchirapalli Theodore Rinaldo Paul Schaffer Roch Theriault Yahweh Ben
Yahweh Dwight York Gurmeet R. R. Singh Jim Bakker, Hogen Fukunaga Kent Hovind L. Ron
Hubbard Luc Jouret
Henry Lyons Barry Minkow Sun Myung Moon Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh David Yonggi Cho, Kong
Hee
~~
Sir, please think about the point you are trying to make. You are only setting a trap for yourself. I'm
not sure if you believe in "Once saved always saved", but if you do, then you believe all of the Catholic
criminals you refer to are still going to be in heaven. Think about your logic. If you do not believe
this, I'm still saying for those who do.

Tim, about #1., I think you misinterpreted what I said. If we ourselves could merit Salvation, then
why did Jesus die on the Cross?
