Statement of Purpose

I am glad to introduce myself as Ashar P.S from Ernakulam District in Kerala State, South India. Ever
since I was young, I have been constantly exposed to the business world. As my father is in Business
field, despite my young age, I have found myself having the call for business and as the first step towards
my career, I did bachelor of business administration. After my undergraduate course, I worked with Ace
Travels and consultants, in the sales section. I failed my colleagues at times, being the novice that I was.
Yet I managed to transform those failures into lessons and inspirations and eventually got my success. I
was the best performer of the year 2018-2019 on sales field.

Why I want to do MSC [ International Management]

I want to follow my father’s footsteps but expand the business in a much bigger way. As my father deals
with Hardware business I am thinking of starting new branches across India. From my experience, I found
that there are 40-50 building contractors who buy materials from our store regularly. Since India is a
country that is fast developing to become a middle income economy, there is huge demand for buildings
for residential and commercial purposes. Hence, hardware business is very prospective in India. As
Indian government is promoting entrepreneurship, I think this would be my perfect opportunity to expand
this business by starting several outlets. Once it becomes a bigger business, management of the
resources like staff, financial data, materials get more complicated. I also need to develop better
negotiation skills to deal with clients. So, I need to gain deep knowledge of management and leadership
and gain management level experience in larger firms to become confident of starting my own business.
To achieve this, I need to pursue MSC and gain advanced knowledge of International management
techniques and strategies that I need to know for successful business management. This course will
teach me how to tailor various management strategies for different markets. In a world that is rapidly
globalizing, flexible and customizable management strategies save firms both time and resources. This
course also gives the opportunity to develop team working skills and leadership skills which are very
important for a successful Manager.

University of West of Scotland

University of west of Scotland is one of the best and innovative university in UK. I found that UWS gives
excellent support to its students and international students in particular. The professors are experts with
both academic and industry experience. I believe that UWS is the best institution for me to further hone
my talent in international management and eventually earn the title of MSC at the end of my education.
The MSC course at the UWS is updated to ensure the students are capable of running or managing
business independently. The course offered by the institute is what I believe I need to gain an overall
understanding of the various aspects of management and international management to allow me to make
informed decisions regarding my career. The university provides best opportunity for sports sector, and I
love football very much. There are students from about 70 countries in UWS and offers a vibrant and
diverse international community .The student information and student support team are easily accessible
and provides a wide range of services. The university library is available for 24*7 and has excellent
facilities.

The UK has retained its position as a popular destination among international students owing to its long
standing tradition of providing quality education. The UK education system promotes close interaction
between students and lecturers and provides opportunities to apply the theories learned in practical
settings. It helps to build entrepreneurial skills whereas most Indian institutions give importance only to
theoretical learning which does not help me to become a successful businessman. Most UK universities
have counsellors and advisors to provide information and support to international students who can help
them get used to the education system or any aspect of their course. An MSC award from a UK university
is one of the most highly respected qualifications in the world, and graduates are valued by businesses,
both local and international, in almost every type of industry. Choosing to study MSC in the UK is a life
changing decision and business schools and universities in the UK will equip students with the logical and
lateral thinking needed to succeed in career.
