Steps for Programming SST 89E51RD

STEP: 1
Insert SST 89E516RD Chip to 8051 RS232 Flasher Board and connect to PC
via RS232 Port. If RS232 Port Not Available in PC, Use USB to UART.

NOTE: we can use 8051 Development Board also.

Click Option and Select CHIP type and COM port. Keep Remaining
Unchanged.

STEP: 4
Click Connect and Press and release RESET Button in the 8051 RS232 Flasher
Board.

Click Download and select HEX File and Click ok.

STEP: 7
The selected HEX Code Download is completed. Click RESET in
Software or 8051 RS232 Flasher to See the Output.

If you are not able to find the COM port

number as in your SST Bootstrap tool, Then
use the following setup to change the COM
port number as per the numbers available in
the tool.

If you would like to change the COM port number that’s been
assigned to your USB to TTL product:

 connect your USB product to the computer.

 With the mouse, right-click on the product name with the
mouse. A menu will appear.
 On the menu, click on Properties. A dialog (window) appears.
 Click on the Port Settings tab.
 Click on the Advanced button. A second dialog appears.

 On this new dialog, there is “COM Port Number” option near

the top. Change it to suit your needs and click on OK to close
the dialog. You might get a warning message about other
programs using the device and whether you wish to continue.
Click on Yes.
 Click on OK again to close the first dialog.
 Close the Device Manager. Note that the Device Manager might
still show the old COM port number. If you close it and re-open
it, you will then be able to see the new COM port number listed.
