What did you learn about yourself throughout this process?

How have you grown as a

person?
I think that through the creation and completion of my Rube Goldberg machine, I have become a
more patient person and a better problem solver. By having to adjust after every attempt during
this project, I learned how to solve problems and become a more critical thinking. These were
things I would struggle with in the past, so this project definitely helped me.

What steps are you planning to continue to take to continue your journey?
Although I probably won’t be constructing another Rube Goldberg machine anytime soon, I can
continue on my journey by doing similar activities. For example, puzzles are a great way to
increase patience, critical thinking, and problem solving. By doing this, hopefully I can continue
to grow in these areas

What surprised you during the process of writing your multi-genre paper?
For me personally, probably all the similarities each genre has. It’s hard to imagine that a Twitter
post and a Fairytale can have such different connotations but have such similar substance within
them. A lot of my writing turned out to have a similar voice.

What did you learn about writing in different genres as a way of inquiring into your topic
and communicating what you know?
I learned that a lot of different genres can be related to my project. I was able to talk about
internal and external challenges I faced throughout the process of creating my machine. I liked
how we could choose which genre we wanted to write in so that we could demonstrate what we
know in different categories. I think this provides a way to see what you prefer to write in and
how similar and different each category can be.

Describe the strongest and weakest parts of your project or writing and explain why you
categorize each as such.
I would say one of my strongest parts would be the news article I wrote. Maybe it’s just because
that was one of the challenges I spent the most time on and probably worked the hardest on, but I
really liked what I wrote. I thought it correctly conveyed what I was trying to say and looked
really professional. One of my weakest parts would probably be the cohesiveness between all the
different writing. I tried my best, but I found it hard to relate everything together sometimes.
That was probably what was most difficult for me.

Discuss the choices that you made in deciding each genre for each stage . Why and how did
you make these choices?
For the pieces of writing that didn’t have assigned genres, I thought of what I wanted to convey
and chose a genre that would most correctly demonstrate that. For example, I chose a “Letter to
the Editor” for my revelation because I thought it would illustrate how my view on my revelation
might differ from someone else's. I really just chose what I thought would work well with the
tone and voice I was trying to demonstrate during each stage.

What grade do you feel you deserve on the project and why?
I can safely say I worked extremely hard on this project. It was very trying sometimes but I
always got throughout. Personally, based on the dedication I hopefully show during the project
and my writing, I would give myself a low A. In no way do I think this project is perfect, but
hopefully it properly demonstrates the quality of my work.
