5.1 The Place of Electrode
This system use silver chloride channel electrode, drip in brine liquor at 5% at work. Wash down
with clean water after use and airing everyday. Cover it to avoid exposal to protect the
chlorination on electrode.
Place the electrode according to international system electrode emplacement.
Notice: In the process of measurement, all of the measuring lead lines should be connected
with the corresponding leads on the scalp without hanging in the air. If parts of leads need
to be connected, make sure to connect all unused leads with GND to avoid the interference
caused by the lead hanging in the air. Simultaneously, close the leads on the software which
correspond with the unused leads (click the characters at the right of the corresponding
leads) to make the waveform beeline, in order to avoid the influence on other leads.

After analyzing, select menu "Print" -> "Print Report" or click button to edit report, shown as

39
Figure 5-42. Or you can select "Print" -> "Report Setting" to edit report name and select
information to print out, refer to Figure 5-43:
Click the edit area, you can input words; When editing, double click this area, you can use the
glossary which has been saved.Choose glossary (After choosing, you can edit the glossary).
Click edit area again, the glossary is written on the area. Press Enter or click other area, editing is
finished.
You can choose template, text align pattern, analysis view of report, edit the title and choose
patient information to print out.
Notice: Advising you set report template first, and then edit contents of report; Otherwise
the system renovation will lead to the contents lost!

As shown in Figure 5-44, click any one case with one click of the left mouse, the information of
the patient will be shown in the right side of the column; if there are many cases you need to
choose, you can also do conditional fast search to find the case you need.
The search operation is following:
Click small rectangular box before "Search" to select search function. Then select condition and
input condition content, finally click button "Search" down to begin searching for case. The
search function can find the case dimly, for example, if you select the name search condition, the
list will be shown to you all cases which theirs' names contains the words you have inputted. And
you could also set range of case number when you select case number search condition.
The content that accords with the case condition will be displayed in the list on the left, and for
those cases do not meet the conditions of the case, the system will point out, Click the "Clear up",

41
the content of the user input will be deleted.
Attention: In this function, patients' information only could be shown, not be modified.
Function 23: Patient List Management
Select menu "Case Management" -> "Patient list management" to enter picture Figure 5-45.
As shown in the menu of Figure 5-45, you can choose cases (You can also make use of the
function of research to find the case you need.), and modify it (them) in the right side of the
column. After that, click button "Save" and the prompt will appear. Then click "yes", you can
save the modified case. You can also delete the cases you want: select one of the cases you need
to delete, and click button "Delete"to delete the case.

Select the cases that you want to output and click "Output"button, then pop-up prompt window

42
shown as Figure 5-47, the meaning of clicking "Yes" button is to cut cases, the "No" is to copy
cases and the "Cancel" is to give up outputting cases.
"Open File" will load one patient case into software.
"Open Folder" will load all patient cases in the same folder which you selected into software,
and update the information in list.
Click "Output EDF", then pop-up prompt window shown as Figure 5-48, the meaning is output
EDF successfully. (BDF is the same).

Function 25: Pathologic Analyse
Select menu "Data Analysis" -> "Pathologic Analyse" or click button , will pop up dialog
shown as Figure 5-49, set up parameters of wave then click the "OK" to detect waveform, use
the appointed color to mark the pathologic.
Select menu "System Configure" -> "Inspect Setting" or click , will pop up dialog shown as
Figure 5-50, can set up category and color of different pathologies.

43
Figure 5-50 Figure 5-51
Choose appropriate color by clicking menu combo of every waveform. After setting up color, the
"Pathologic Analyse" is enabled again. And then inspect and color the waveform again also can
display the assigned wave view.
Function 26: SpO2 trend
When there is data of SpO2 in the case of patient, click button , you can observe the trend of
the oxygen values and pulse values recorded in the gathering process, As Figure 5-51 shows.
Press the Esc key on your keyboard to exit.

44
Function 27: Multilingual Interface
In the Chinese interface, choose "System Control" -> "Language Select" -> "English" switch to
English interface state; if system is in English interface state, choose the "System Configure" ->
"Language the Select" -> "Chinese" switch the system to Chinese interface state. The same
operation is also applicable to other languages.
5.6 Exits
Select menu "Case Management" -> "Exit" or click on top right corner of the menu to exit
from system of software.

Chapter 7 Appendix
The Principle of EEG Relief Map:
EEG relief map is a new method to analyze head bioelectricity in accordance with computer
technology and computer picture disposal technology. As a new method around the world right
now, it transforms huge complex but abnormity head bioelectricity to a form which could reflex
quantitative change and orientation by computer. It displays complexion about diversification of
head energy, it becomes an excellence, no wound and scientific method for skull sickness
diagnose and research on head energy quantitative analysis. It is useful to analysis correctly on
head energy using this technology.
Principle and Method:
Placement of electrodes: lay 16 leads on outboard head according to international 10/20 system
method standard, collect head wave signals and make A/D (modules transform) transform.
F-transform:
Transform the collected head wave signals to power chart map form to display the relationship
about head wave frequency flied and power.
Frequency Assort:
δ frequency flied: 0.8~3.8Hz
θ frequency flied: 4.0~7.8Hz
α1 frequency flied: 8.0~9.8Hz
α2 frequency flied: 10.0~12.8Hz
β1 frequency flied: 13.0~19.8Hz

48
β2 frequency flied: 20.0~30.0Hz
Insert Value Operation:

Print the received data to module picture and get power relief picture.EEG sign collection is
amplified by the EEG Mapping, then the signal is input to computer to complete analog to digital
conversion and Fourier transform.
Usual Relief Map:
Some power of δ wave relief map higher than regular value at 8 level and those exceed would
belong to abnormities.
Some power of θ wave relief map exceed normal value at 10 level local or whole head belong to
abnormities.
Evident un-symmetry of α wave relief map about the distributing of the two hemispheres. Those
exceed 3 or 5 belong to abnormities.
Power Chart Relief Map of Patient:
Most of the patient’s relief map would be abnormity and main of those are power exceed of δ
wave and θ wave, especially evident in the forward of head. Followed by the increase of the
power of α2 wave (namelyαwave) and the power of β wave also has trend to increase.
