Ingeniería civil en el futuro

Un ingeniero civil es el encargado de la formulación de proyectos de Ingeniería Civil de alta

calidad, en el caso de que cualquier obra por concepción del ingeniero se asegure su
seguridad a los usuarios finales, además de establecer los procedimientos para la operación y
maquinaria utilizada, para obtener una alta calidad y productividad en los proyectos, teniendo
en cuenta la responsabilidad social, y ambiental del mismo.

Un ingeniero civil se puede especializar en las diferentes ramas de ingeniería civil como lo son
la rama de estructuras y pavimentos , para el diseño de una estructura calculando las cargas y
esfuerzos del mismo, además del diseño geométrico de una vía, con sus respectivos
levantamientos topográficos, geotecnia prevista y estudios pertinentes para el proceso, la
rama de sanitaria y ambiente en el cual se busca la estabilidad ambiental del ecosistema, se
utiliza la relación con las plantas de tratamiento de aguas residuales (PTAR) o las plantas de
tratamiento de agua potable (PTAP), la rama de geotecnia para el estudio del suelo la cual
estima la resistencia entre las partículas de la corteza terrestre, su humedad, granulometría, y
demás propiedades del suelo, y la rama hidráulica la cual se encarga de la proyección y
ejecución de los caudales, presas, tanques y demás estructuras hidráulicas que faciliten la
irrigación, potabilización del agua al ser humano.

Dentro del video me llamo la atención el arquitecto Cesar Pelli, lo cual describe que es uno de
los más representativos de la ingeniería civil, ya que construye los edificios más altos del
mundo, un ejemplo claro pueden ser las Torres Petronas en Kuala Lumpur, Malasia, que desde
1998 y hasta mediados de 2003 fueron los edificios más altos del mundo.

También contribuyo con la construcción de la Torre de Cristal el Madrid, España, la cual es un

rascacielos de 249 metros y 50 plantas. La ingeniería civil puede ser una carrera un poco
compleja ya que el uso de las matemáticas es fundamental para la misma, el análisis
matemático, la lógica y la capacidad y responsabilidad en la construcción, diseño,
programación y ejecución de cualquier proyecto.

Otro aspecto importante que me llamo la atención fue la escalera monumental instalada en el
teatro Schuster Center, ya que esta soporta una carga de 60.00 libras, y en ella pueden estar
paradas 300 personas, este ejemplo refleja las maravillas que un ingeniero civil puede lograr
conectando todas las ramas y conocimientos de la ingeniería civil, como son los cálculos
matemáticos básicos, la estática y el análisis estructuras de la instalación para determinar las
fuerzas aplicadas, los esfuerzo, deformación, módulos de elasticidad, del material, etc.

Nosotros como futuros ingenieros civiles debemos sentirnos orgullosos de esta carrera y este
privilegio, es una carrera compleja pero muy completa, las obras de construcción civil reflejan
en el desarrollo de la economía, cultura y socio economía de un país, además de aportar
estética visual y física atrayendo turistas, y demás habitantes del mundo para conocer las
obras que se hayan realizado. La ingeniería civil es un aporte importante para un país,
contribuyendo a su desarrollo, por ende es una carrera fabulosa y extraordinaria.

A civil engineer is in charge of the formulation of high quality Civil Engineering projects, in case
any work by engineer's design ensures its safety to the end users, besides establishing the
procedures for the operation and machinery used, to obtain a high quality and productivity in
the projects, taking into account the social, and environmental responsibility of the same.

A civil engineer can specialize in the different branches of civil engineering such as the branch
of structures and pavements, for the design of a structure calculating the loads and efforts of
the same, in addition to the geometric design of a road, with their respective topographic
surveys , planned geotechnics and relevant studies for the process, the sanitary and
environmental branch in which the environmental stability of the ecosystem is sought, the
relationship with the wastewater treatment plants (PTAR) or the drinking water treatment
plants is used (PTAP), the branch of geotechnical for the study of the soil which estimates the
resistance between the particles of the earth's crust, its humidity, granulometry, and other
properties of the soil, and the hydraulic branch which is in charge of the projection and
execution of the flows, dams, tanks and other hydraulic structures that facilitate the irrigation,
purification of water to the human being.

Within the video I am struck by the architect Cesar Pelli, which describes it as one of the most
representative of civil engineering, since it builds the tallest buildings in the world, a clear
example being the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia , that from 1998 until mid 2003
were the tallest buildings in the world.

I also contribute with the construction of the Torre de Cristal in Madrid, Spain, which is a 249
meter high skyscraper and 50 floors. Civil engineering can be a somewhat complex career since
the use of mathematics is fundamental for it, the mathematical analysis, the logic and the
capacity and responsibility in the construction, design, programming and execution of any
project.

Another important aspect that caught my attention was the monumental staircase installed in
the Schuster Center theater, since it supports a load of 60.00 pounds, and it can hold 300
people, this example reflects the wonders that a civil engineer can achieve by connecting all
branches and knowledge of civil engineering, such as basic mathematical calculations, static
and structural analysis of the installation to determine the applied forces, stress, deformation,
modulus of elasticity, material, etc.

We as future civil engineers should feel proud of this career and this privilege, is a complex but
very complete career, civil construction works reflect in the development of economy, culture
and socio-economy of a country, in addition to providing visual aesthetics and physical
attracting tourists, and other inhabitants of the world to know the works that have been made.
Civil engineering is an important contribution for a country, contributing to its development,
therefore it is a fabulous and extraordinary career.
