Activities to develop

Part 1: After checking the Unit 1 Topic 2: Modal Verbs, write 1 sentence
using each one of the modal verbs regarding your duties and rights as
passenger in a flight: can – could – may - must - should - ought to –
have to – need to- had better - would.

Example:
 I must fasten my seat belt during take-off.
Phrases
I should use the bathroom after take-off
I must not smoke during the flight
If I carry weapons, I have to register them before the flight
I can take only one bag in the cabin
In case of emergency, I ought to follow the instructions by the Flight
Attendant.
I had better not interrupt the pilots during the flight.
I would not hear music so loudly during the flight
I may return to mi seat when the seat belt light is on
I could use my cellphone before take-off.
If I need the Flight Attendant, I need to push the button
Part 2: According to the topic Past Progressive (Unit 1: Topic 3), each
student must write 5 things you were doing at home yesterday and 5
things you were not:

Example: I was cleaning my room yesterday.


I was not watching my favorite TV show.
I was watching TV at night
I was sleeping in the afternoon
I was washing the dishes
I was drinking water
I was painting the walls
I was not cleaning the windows
I was not cooking the lunch
I was not jumping in the bed
I was not watching movies
I was not mopping the floor
Part 3: Write a text about how you imagine your life in ten years. Use
at least two pictures related to your text. You should write three
paragraphs:

Example: I will have my own food company in Bogotá.

 Paragraph 1: Introduction
Everyone has ever thought in his own future, questions like What will
I be doing in the future? What about my work and my financial
position? Would I have a family? All those questions that make us
dream, to finally define or choose a path that accomplish or make real
those dreams. Well, in the next sentences I going to give some
personal responses to that questions.
I think in the next 10 years lifestyle will be different, I will have
graduate from university, the world technological speaking will be
more dependent
 Paragraph 2: Personal life
First of all, I am going to talk about my personal life in the next ten
years, I should travel out of the country and I must know at least 2
different cities in Europe. I may buy my home, preferably in Bogotá
city, so I had better start saving money. Also, I would like to get
married with my girlfriend and spend more time with my family,
having more barbecue weekends. I want to read more books, one of
my purpose for this year, is being a good book reader, therefore in
ten years I will read minimum 3 books for year, for a total of 30
books, that is awesome. Finally, I will be a sports person with a
healthier lifestyle.

 Paragraph 3: Professional life


In my professional life, I would like to be financially independent, so I
will start my own business, preferably in software development, if I
can’t start my own business, I will get a promotion in the job that I´m
working right now. I will improve my English level, so from here to
ten years I will speak English more fluent, therefore I must practice
continuously.
