A. The functions of Simple present tense is used to tell... (simple present tense
digunakan untuk menyatakan...)
1. General truths (kebenaran umum/fakta)
a. Water freezes at zero degrees. (Air membeku pada nol derajat)
b. The Earth revolves around the Sun. (Bumi mengelilingi matahari)
c. Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometers per second. (Cahaya mengalir pada
hampir 300.000 kilometer per detik).
2. Repeated actions (kejadian yang diulang-ulang)
a. We catch the bus every morning. (Kita naik bus setiap pagi)
b. I go to school at 6.30. (Saya pergi ke sekolah pukul 6.30)
c. She never plays football. (Dia tidak bermain sepak bola)
3. Permanent states (keadaan yang permanen/bisa berubah dalam jangka waktu
tertentu)
a. I work in London. (saya bekerja di London)
b. I’m nineteen years old. (Saya berumur 19 tahun)
c. I’m a student. (Saya seorang siswa)
4. Instruksi (Perintah)
a. Stand up. (Berdiri)
b. Sit down. (Duduklah)
c. Open your mouth. (Buka mulutmu)
d. Wave your hand. (Lambaikan tanganmu)
e. Clap your hands. (Tepuk tanganmu)

B. Forming Simple Present Tense: (Pembentukan Simple Present Tense)

2. Using Verb “to think” (Menggunakan kata kerja, misalnya “berfikir”)

Affirmative Negative Interrogative

I think I do not think Do I think?

He thinks He does not think Does he think?

She thinks She does not think Does she think?

Note:
a. In the third person singular the verb always ends in –s/-es: (dalam orang ketiga
tunggal (contoh: he/she), kata kerja selalu berakhiran “S / ES”)
Misalnya: he wants, she needs, he gives, she thinks.
b. Negative and question forms use DOES (= the third person of the auxiliary
'DO') + the infinitive of the verb. (Bentuk kalimat negatif dan kalimat
 pertanyaan menggunakan DOES (= orang ketiga dari pembantu 'DO') +
infinitif kata kerja.
Misalnya:
Kalimat positif: He wants ice cream.
Kalimat negatif: He does not want vanilla.
Kalimat pertanyaan: Does he want strawberry?
