UTIVE ORDER EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR PAYMENT OF SEWER USE FEES. WHEREAS, on March 18, 2020, a public health emergency was declared in the City of Ansonia due to the significant danger to public health posed by the spread of the COVID-19 virus; and WHEREAS, on March 18, 2020, the Mayor of the City of Ansonia, Connecticut, assumed by Emergency Declaration the powers, fitictions and duties prescribed and provided by law, including but not limited to Connecticut General Statutes Sections 28-8(a), 28-1(8), and 28-222, City of Ansonia Code Seciion 13-7, s0 that the Mayor of the City of Ansonia may take such action as necessary to protect the public health and mitigate this emergency; and WHEREAS, preventative measures adopted by state and local authorities to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus have resulted in a financial hardship to Ansonia residents and business owners; and WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Ansonia deems it in the public interest to exse the financial burden and obligations of Ansonia’s residents and business owners in this time of crisis; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Sootions 28-8a(a), 28-1(8), and 28-22a, and Ansonia City Code Section 13-7, and the Emergency Declaration issued on March 18, 2020, that the deadline for payment of the second installment of the current sewer use bill issued by the Ansonia Water Pollution Control. Authority, Grand List 2018, will be extended thirty (30) days, from April 1, 2020 until May 1, 2620, and that no interest or penalties shall be applied to a payment of said bill until after May 1, 2020.
