the paper entitled “The Development of Science, Technologies, and Ethnic for
Application” right in the calculated time.

The purpose in writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment that given by Mr. Hasan
Hariri S.Pd., M.Pd. as lecturer. 

in arranging this paper, the writer trully get lots challenges and obstructions but with
help of many indiviuals, those obstructions could passed. writer also realized there are
still many mistakes in process of writing this paper.

 PRELIMINARY

A. BACKGROUND ISSUES

The development of technology and science can’t be avoid, every inoovation gives
positive benefits in human life. Technology and science also gives eases, and as new
way in doing human activity. Human also enjoy lots of benefits brought by technology
inovations that has been produced in last decade. Technological breaktrough in micro
electronic, telecommunication, computer, internet, and robotic has change the ways
human developing and transform technology for industry sector that produced goods
and services with high technology.

The development of technology and science also brings changes in human ethnic. Jobs
that needs physical before, now has changed with automatic machine. Down here will
be mentioned all the changes caused by the development of technology and science.

1. Definition of the Development of Science, Technology and Ethnic

1.1 Definition of Technology

Technology is a body of knowledge devoted to creating tools, processing actions
and the extracting of materials. The term ‘Technology” is wide, and everyone
has their way of understanding its meaning. We use technology to accomplish
various tasks in our daily lives, in brief; we can describe technology as products
and processes used to simplify our daily lives. We use technology to extend our
abilities, making people the most crucial part of any technological system.

1.2 Definition of Science

the systematic study of the nature and behaviour of the material
and physical universe, based on observation, experiment, and measurement, and
the formulation of laws to describe these facts in general terms.

1.3 Definition of Ethnic

Relating to a population subgroup (within a larger or dominant national or
cultural group) with a common national or cultural tradition.

2. Factors that influence the development of science, technology, and ethnic

2.1 External factors:

Sociological: Includes; the demographic status and trends, work ethics and
personal values, and general cultures. This factors influences differently on how
management accomplishes its jobs. The social environment presented by each
country is unique and as the business becomes international, management is
ought to understand these unique environments. This understanding assists the

 management to plan for the future and design products for particular groups of
people.

Economic and political: Includes; all the essential factor such as competitors,
suppliers and customers in an open model of business the management must
study the economy and political environment for a continual and dynamic
relationship. In this system the management assumes that the business or
company has both input and output. By studying the companies’ suppliers’,
competitors and customers as well as current political factors, the management
are capable of making effective managerial and decisions. The products
designed under this should posses place, form and time utility to succeed in the
mark place.

Technology: Technology has the most dramatic effect on business as changes in

this external environment are often quickly felt by firm. As the market can
change overnight the management should be in a position to make decisions that
will put the company in a flexible poison to adapt with the technological
changes (Karger, 1991).

2.2 Internal factors

Internal factors or environment of a business consists of the organizational

resources available to accomplish its goals. These are human technological,
financial and physical resources. The task of management is to acquire these
resources and make efficient and effective use of them within an organization. In
this task the management of each business is in competition with all other
businesses in the life. Organizational resources are therefore scarce and
management success depends on how well these resources are both acquired and
used. (Montana & Charnove 2000)

In an in-depth analysis of Vermont Teddy bear Co.Inc, the several factors

 affected the success of the corporation. The first factor is globalization which
tends to bring a close interaction of people between different ports do the world
with increasing possibilities of personal exchange, mutual understanding and
friendship. Technology is the second aspect and refers to the applied techniques
which make operations easier. Innovation involves research and development
efforts to create a new technology. Diversity is the difference among people and
cultures. The final factor in this analysis is ethics which is described as a set of
principles of right conduct. The following analysis explains how the above
factors impact on the management process when conducting business around the
world of Vermont Teddy bear Co.Inc.

Globalization is an important aspect for success growth and survival of a

business in the world market. The toddy bear product is 100 years old and
commands markets in different countries around the world. (Vincelette. et al
2001) Until 1994, Teddy bear experienced a great deal of success and
profitability. This is a credited to the Bear-Gram delivery service to reach the
outside world. The company has also since 1998 changed its philosophy by
exploring the offshore sourcing of materials outfits and manufacturing in offer to
lower costs. Their global networking allows for new ideas and planning meant to
capture the global market.

3. The Application of Technology, Science, and Ethnic in Human Activites

The Application of Technology, science, and ethnic have a lot of part in human
activities. Science is knowledge use by people to know the nature and behaviour of the
material and physical universe, and science also use for developing technologies.
Technology is products from science that use to helps human, like a make job easier and
effective to do. And it also help them in their daily activities, like the use of phone
today, before phone come to human civilization like right now, people have to meet
diectly to communicate or they have to send a letter and it takes lots of time for the
letter for arrive to the destination, different from now that people can communicate

around the world without meets in just a second. And the development of Ethnic is
influenced by Science and Technology. The use of science and technology in daily
activities, it develops ethnic of people.

4. Impacts of The Development of Science, Technology, and Ethnic in Human Life

Good Impacts :

1. information obtained can be publish directly and accepted fastly by many people
in social media, so everyone can access it easily.
2. the relations in public can be done anywhere and anytime.
3. Improving the welfare of human life (individually or in groups) towards
economic, political, military, and social-cultural development.
4. Appropriate use of science and technology can further facilitate the process of
solving various problems faced by humans.
5. Science and technology can provide an inspiration about the development of a
culture or ethnic that exists in Indonesia.
Bad Impacts

Bad Impacts :

1. There are many hoaxes spread on social media, and it can cause serious
problem.
2. Individualism
3. Global Warming that caused by industry
4. Pollution of air, water, and ground.
5. Moral illness

The relations between science, technology, and ethnic are clear, science used to develop
technologies and technologies changes ethnic of society. Thats why the Development of
Science, Technology, And Ethnic needs a lot of attention in the application because it
leads our world to be better or worse. So, let’s be careful in applying it in our life
because it contains good impacts and also bad impacts.
