PROBLEM AND IT’S BACKGROUND

Introduction

Nowadays many schools are using a manual monitoring system and most of the time they

accidentally loss their attendance sheet so that they cannot properly monitor the

attendance of their Teachers. Attendance Monitoring System is a gate pass management

system by inputting their user name and password that will monitor the presence of the

teachers of the school. This will lessen the work of the school personnel in checking the

identity of every teacher. It maintains the daily record of the teachers in log in and log out

from school. This study is conducted for the enhancement of the existing manual

attendance recording in form of a fully developed monitoring system of Eastwood

College of Science and Technology.

Most of the schools nowadays are implementing automated techniques and processes to

meet their growing needs, and it can be best defined by widely used of computers and

other devices. Attendance is a time record of numbers of teacher present during events,

generally defined as systematic accurate all. It is an obligation of every teacher as fullest

potential. It is very important to the teacher and etc. to maintain their attendance from

school or work.

In this study, the proponents aim to provide a better way of monitoring the attendance of

Teacher of Eastwood College of Science and Technology. In order for the Administrator

can handle faster and easy way of recording and monitoring the daily attendance of the

teachers. The system will provide an efficient way of record keeping activity. This study
aims to provide better results of Teachers attendance Monitoring System that can cover

up with the school needs.

Our school has an existing attendance monitoring system but we as researcher are

deciding to help our alma mater by upgrading and improving our old existing system by

putting new features to become easy, fast and to more useful to our school. To encourage

our teacher to use our new attendance monitoring system.

Statement of the Problem

The Statement of the problem is about the General and Specific Problem of Teacher of

Eastwood College of Science and Technology.

General Problem

 Faculty they cannot properly monitor concerning to salary deduction. (Per

minute).

Specific Problem

 Time consuming in checking the attendance.

The teacher might have lost at least 5 minutes in writing their time in the attendance

sheet.

 Administrator might loss the attendance sheet.

Some teachers signing in and out in the school and after that some of the attendance sheet

got miss place because they forgot where they put all the papers.

 Erasures / Tampered.
The attendance sheet might have lots of erasures because they input wrong information

so that the attendance sheet looks unorganized

Objective of the Study

The researchers analyzed the problems when it comes to attendance. They planned and

propose system that can solve the problems of the school.

General Objective

 Faculty

they can properly monitored the salary deduction of the faculty member every time it is

late.

Specific Objective

 To be able to consume their time.

 To avoid of losing the Teachers attendance sheet.

 To avoid erasures and tampering

Conceptual Framework

In this study, the proponents aim to provide a better way of monitoring the attendance of

teacher of Eastwood College of Science and Technology. In order for the Administrator

can handle faster and easy way of recording and monitoring the daily attendance of the

teachers. The system will provide an efficient way of record keeping activity. This study

aims to provide better results of Teachers attendance Monitoring System that can cover

up with the school needs.

Significance of the Study

This study is conducted to propose and develop a new system that would be of great

advantage to the school, researchers, administrator, teacher, proponents and to future

researchers.

Eastwood College of Science and Technology - The result of the study would provide

more efficient and effective processing of the data. It would also result to faster and

easier generation of the outputs; hence, reports are submitted on time for timely decision

making.

Researchers - The conduct of this study helped the researchers to work independently.

The researchers able to practiced their knowledge in System Analysis Design. It can help

the proponents to learn more and enhance their skills in programming.

Administrator - It will help to organize the record and monitor the faculty member’s

attendance.

Teachers - Their salary will be computed properly.

Future Researchers - This study will serve as a guide for other researchers who intend to

explore along the same line of the study. The study enhances the knowledge of users in

the advancement of technology. This study will provide contribution for educational

purposes.

The proponents have always kept in mind the benefits of the users, this study will be a

great help for the school Administrator because it will easy for them to monitor the daily

attendance of their Teachers.

Scope and Delimitation

Scope

The study will focus in the monitoring of the teachers attendance of Eastwood College Of

Science and Technology. The proposed system will help the administrator to monitor the

teachers of Eastwood College Of Science and Technology .The system can provide real

time of the teachers log in and log out. The system holds the information about the

teachers log in and log out from the school and only the Administrator can see the

teacher’s attendance. If the teacher input his/her user name and password it is
automatically registered as log in or log out. The teachers automatically mark absent if

he/she didn’t input his/her user name and password during the day.

Delimitation

The proposed system will have limitations like other programs. Computer hardware

damage and problem caused by power interruption are not controlled by the proposed

system. The project system has no online features and capabilities. The proposed system

cannot back-up files. The proposed system cannot handle a human error.

Definition of Terms

Absent - not present in a place, at an occasion, or as part of something.

Activity - the condition in which things are happening or being done, A thing that a

person or group does or has done.

Add - To add something. The proponents use this to add files.

Admin - Process of administering. The proponents use this for the admin identify his/her

page.

Attendance – the action or state of going regularly to or being present at a place or event.

Delete - To erase something. The proponents use this for the delete button.

Manual Processing – it is done or operated only by a hand or hands.

Monitoring - is the regular observation and recording of activities taking place in a

project or program.

Password - A secret word known to only a few people. The proponents use this for the

user to identify where they can input their password.

Penalty - a punishment imposed for breaking a law, rule, or contract.

Record - A thing constituting a piece of evidence about the past, esp. an account of an act

or occurrence kept in writing or some other permanent form. The proponents use this to

hold the master list.

Save -To save life. The proponents use this to save files.

Update - Make (something) more modern or up to date. The proponents use this to update

saved information.
