The transcription of ,,Barucaba variations” is a selection of Paganini’s last and unfinished etude-series. The exercises circumscribe all the major keys. Nevertheless their succession is not in a didactic quint order, but the variations follow each other according to other musical respects. Breath marked in the Bach movements and in the pharaphrases of the two opera arias try to help with the ideal proportioning of the musical phrases. My two own variations based on Paganini's 24th caprice included at the end of this booklet, can be incorporated optionally in the original piece supposing that the performer can sound the ,,slap tongue” tones as if imitiating the pizzicatos of the violin. You can find the fingering techniques of the flageolets tones in the score as a guide, occasionally in differnet versions as well. This collection is made for saxophone primarily, though it contains useful exercises for clarinetist, as well. T hope that students and artists will practice them with pleasure and might use them to complete their concert repertoire. Gotz NéndorNéndor GOTZ took his clarinet artist degree at the LISZT FERENC MUSIC UNIVERSITY in 1991. He was regularly giving concerts with the Paris International Orchestra lead by Yehudi Menuhin. His saxophone studies were inspired by the jazz and contemporary repertoire during his university years. He has given concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in almost all European countries, in Jordan, in Japan ‘and in the United States. Since 1994 he has been a soloist of the Disseldorf , Musikfabrik” Chamber Ensemble. He has been performing with outstanding composers and conductors (such as Péter EOTVOS, Diego MASSON, Luciano BERIO, Mauricio KAGEL, Earle BROWN etc.) as a member of ,Musikfabrik” and the ,,Klagforum Wien”, a modern group in Vienna. The following works were composed for Néndor GOTZ: Léiscl6 DRASKOCZY -Dances of Korond (1978) Mauricio KAGEL -Burleske (premiere at the EXPO 2000 in Hannover, Néndor Gétc baritone saxophone and WDR Rundfunkchor) Istvdn LANG -Sassonanti (premiere in the Hungarian Radio on 12th December, 2001.) Apart from this radio recordings (Hungarian Radio, WDR, Radio France) he has made CD record with publishers, such as the HUNGAROTON CLASSIC (Satiexophone, transcriptions of Néndor GOTZ), CPO (H.BIRTWISTLE: Secret Theatre), DOWANI (Brahms sonatas) and KAIROS (R. SAUNDERS: Into the Blue) He has been heading the saxophone department of the WEINER Leo Conservatory in Budapest since 2000. Ennek tagjaként, valamint a »Klagforum Wien” bécsi modernzenei csoporttal neves zeneszerzékkel, karmesterekkel (Eotvos Péter, Diego ‘Masson, Luciano Berio, Mauricio Kagel, Earle Brown, sth) koncertezik.
