2.2.4 Able to read and understand a paragraph of 5-8 simple sentences.

Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
(i) Read and spell words.
(ii) Blend phonemes into words and segment words into phonemes.

Set Induction:
1. Teacher show some words with flashcards..
2. Pupils try to read out the words.
Pre- reading
1. Teacher read aloud words with phoneme /ei/.
2. Pupils read and spell the words.
3. Pupils blend the phonemes into word and segment the word into phonemes.
4. Pupils discuss in group and list out other words with the phoneme /ei/
While - reading
1. Read the text silently.
2. Read key words and pupils try to explain the meaning of the words with guidance.
3. Read aloud text. Talk about the differences between the house and the home.
 4. Pupils answer the true and false questions.
5. Guide the pupils to talk about the pictures.
a) What they do for their loved ones?
b) How they feel?
Post – reading
1. Read the notice in the Activity Book page 2.
2. Fill in the blanks with the information given.
