INTRODUCTION

Family and Community are human organisms that are the bedrock of any
society. They provide the sustenance, values, direction, and protection that make it
possible for individuals who live in a defined location to prosper and thrive singularly
and collectively.

The WHO defines community health as: environmental, social, and economic

resources to sustain emotional and physical well-being among people in ways that
advance their aspirations and satisfy their needs in their unique
environment. Community health tends to focus on a defined geographical community.
The term community health is defined by meeting the needs of community by identifying
problems and managing interactions within the community. As we all know being
healthy is very important, that is why being well-updated to the different things that are
happening in our world regarding health is a must.

Last March 7, 2019, we the Medical Technology students of UPH-Dr. Jose G.

Tamayo held a program regarding the issues that we are facing today. As we are in the
Medical field we are responsible for letting the community be aware of the things that
are taking place in our generation. By educating the adults, we want to promote a
healthy-living disease-free community for our young ones for them to live peacefully
with a healthy mind and body in the future. Aiming and working to have a healthy life is
a must but maintaining a healthy living is a smart thinking.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Conclusion:
With the end of our seminar and anti-lice programs, we came to a
conclusion that the parents, who attended the seminar were aware of such
problems, but they lacked the knowledge of proper implementation on the
problems that were tackled. While children who participated in the anti-lice program
were very knowledgeable about lice, which made the program go smoothly. With
the result of our programs, we can conclude that we need more of this programs
and seminars to educate not only the parents and children, but also school staffs,
with that said the school staffs themselves can help promulgate good health
practices.

Recommendation:

1. School staff should be knowledgeable of current health issues affecting the area,
taking to account the seasons
2. Parents should monitor their children for lice and take the necessary actions, also
educate them on the proper usage of anti-lice shampoos.
3. Children should also be responsible for their safety, they should not borrow other
peoples' items that can infect them with lice.
