5th SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A)

THEME: “You are the salt of the earth” (Mt. 5:13)

INTRODUCTION: Welcome my dear sisters and brothers for this Eucharistic

celebration. Today’s readings invite us to consider the demands which the Word
of God places upon us as we seek to live our faith, not in isolation, but in the
midst of the world’s complexities. As believers we are to be salt of the earth and
light to the world, not passive recipients of the word, but active participants in
spreading the Good News. Let’s us now glorify and praise God.
