INSPECT WIRING, TEST VOLTAGE EXCITE FIELD WINDING, BUT STILL NO CHARGE. ORDERED
ALTERNATOR. UPON OPENING BOX IT WAS NOTED THE NEW ALTERNATOR WAS DIFFERENT. IT WAS
LARGER, LONGER AND HAD 1 EXTRA TERMINAL. FINNING STATED IT WAS A SUITABLE
REPLACEMEENT. INSTALLED ALTERNATORM EXCITED THE FIELD, BUT HAD NO CHARGE. HAD TO
ABANDON REPAIR TO HELP OTHER TECHNICIAN WITH A DIFFERENT TASK

FROM CONTROL BOX TO BE UNPLUGGED FROM ELECTRICAL PANEL. SOURCED ALL HOSES, WIRES,
ETC. SO THAT INSTALLING WATER TANK ON TRUCK WILL RUN SMOOTHLY. TAGGED EACH HARNESS
CONNECTRO ON TRUCK AND WATER TANK. CLEANED WORK AREA.
AUG 21, 11 - FILLED TANK WITH AROUND 500 LTRS OF WATER. STARTED TRUCK UP, DID A PASS IN
YARD WHILE TESTING. FOUND ONCE YOU TURN PUMP ON ALL HEADS SPRAYED WATER, EVEN WITH
SWITCHES IN OFF POSITION. READ UP ON SYSTEM , CHECKED SCHEMATICS. WENT THROUGH
WIRING IN CONTROL BOX. IT WAS OK. CHECKED 4 SOLONOIDS, FOUND NO POWER TO 2 . FIXED
WIRE PROBLEM, NOW ALL 4 SOLONOIDS ON AND OFF WORK.
Found that the engine oil filter housing has a small crack that is leaking oil. Change out engine filter
housing and install new o rings as required

BY TURBO. IT WAS FLASHING. METER PANEL, BLEW LINES. REPLACED 3 BOTTLES. RESET HEADS,
CHECKED OVER I/R'S . PK, HOSE? WIRE CONNECTIONS, SYSTEM OK, RETURNED TO EMECO HAD BILL
SIGNED.
JULY 17,10:
WHEN TO UNIT TO CHANGE TURBO COULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE TRUCK WAS LOADED. TALK TO PAUL
FROM KMC AND HE WILL CALL US WHEN TRUCK WILL BE UNLOADED.
JULY 18,10: GET TO UNIT AND FOUND OUT THAT UNIT WAS NOT STEAM, CALL FOR STEAM TRUCK,
AFTER TRUCK WAS STEAM DRAIN COOLANT AND REMOVE TURBO, OPEN TOP OF AIR TO AIR TO
CLEAN IT. PUT AIR TO AIR BACK TOGETHER AND INSTALL NEW TURBO + LUBE. PUT COOLANT BACK
IN AND FIRE UP TRUCK, NO LEAK, LET CUSTOMER KNOW THAT FIRE SUPPRESSION WHEN OFF,
CUSTOMER WILL TAKE CARE OF IT.
Remove tray - install water tank and hook up hydraulics and electrical connections and test operation
Install fire extinguisher
FEB 28, 10 - TROUBLESHOOT ELECTRICAL FAULT 546-5 ETHER HOLD RELAY. TESTED RELAY OK,
INSPECTED WIRING AND HARNESS'S. QUITE A FEW EXTRA WIRES AND HARNESS'S ADDED FIR
2-WAY RADIOS AND // VARIOUS. TRACED OUT AUTO GREASE HARNESS AND FOUND IT CONNECTED
INTO ETHER START AID CIRCUIT. ONLY A 10 AMP CIRCUIT AND AUTO GREASE MOTOR ARATED FOR
20 AMPS @ 24 VOLT. SO IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE FUSE HAD BEEN BURNT. REPLACED FUSE
WITH 20 AMP AGC. AUTO GREASE WORKS OK AND SERVICE FAULT CODE GONE FROM DISPLAY.
WIRING IN REAR OF CAB VERY "HELTER SKELTER" WITH "ADDED ON" CIRCUITS ETC. 2 WAY
RADIOS, AUTO LUBE, FOG LAMPS,WATER TRUCK HARNESS?/ AND OTHERS NOT EASILY IDENTIFIED.

TRAVELLED TO MACHNE TO FIND MACHINE OUT IN THE FIELD. PUT WHEEL CHUCK, TROUBLESHOOT
THE PROBLE. PUT THE BOX UP IN THE AIR, PIN IN AND CHECKED SOME ELECTRICAL HARNESS
CONNECTORS. ON SOLENOID FOUND OUT CONNECTOR INTERMITTENT CONTACT (ZIP TIGHT) BRING
BOX DOWN AND SEND MACHINE TO WORK AGAIN.
WRONG UNIT #
