2. The act of creating an initial plan acts as a reasonability check on the committed
outcomes in terms of resources, timing and alignment with other activities.
4. The Execution Plan acts as a guide to the champion for determining the weekly status
(Green, Yellow, Red) and progress (% completion) of each committed outcome.
Instructions:
There are 4 steps to building your execution plan;
1. Change the header in this Word document to reflect the name of the 90 Day Priority.
2. Save the document with a new name (ie. "2010 Q2 – Team Building")
3. Enter specific actions under each of the Committed Outcomes thus describing what is
required to successfully accomplish the outcome. Aim for 8 to 12 that each contain
the details below;
Action – specific action required to support the accomplishment of the Committed
Outcome
Who – the person (singular) who is accountable for getting this action done
Date – the date by which this action is committed for completion
Resources – any additional people or material required to complete the action
4. Distribute your draft execution plan to everyone on the team prior to your next weekly
meeting. The plan should be reviewed, amended and then accepted by the team.
Check for the following;
a. At least 8-12 actions per Committed Outcome
b. Balanced plan (not front-end or back-end loaded unless absolutely necessary)
c. One name in the Who column; other contributors can be identified in the
Resources column
