● Incorporated differentiated literacy instruction where students had hands-on instruction and practice in phonemic
awareness, blending/segmenting, sight word books, and writing CVC words using letter-sound correspondence.
● Engaged students in daily math talks where they became comfortable expressing their mathematical thinking with
each other. They used their own strategies from the math talk in the related lesson that followed.
● Integrated the arts into many English Language Development lessons. From using verbs in a poem to
choreograph a dance to acting out adjectives, these lessons universally supported the students in my class.

Classroom Volunteer, Kindergarten Fall 2018
● Assisted in teaching different rotations of literacy centers incorporating phonemic awareness,
blending/segmenting and rhyming.
● Taught an integrated arts and history lesson about the Pautaxet native, Squanto.
● Assisted with many lessons in a month-long unit about apples. Some of the lessons included graphing which color
apple students ate first, learning-related vocabulary and the life cycle of an apple.

● Taught an integrated arts lesson on the history of the San Juan Capistrano Mission using collagraph prints to
depict the Legend of the Swallows.
● Assisted students in the editing process for informational books and presentations they wrote about electricity.
● Assisted teachers in a grade-wide grant project where students depicted Californian landscape scenes using
sidewalk chalk in the en plein air style.

● Co-lead teacher for a group of students ages 3-9. I was responsible for writing the weekly lessons.
Swim Instructor, ​Fullerton Aquatic Sports Team Feb 2013-June 2016
● Taught all levels of swim instruction to a widely diverse group of students over the years. My students had ranges
of physical abilities, languages, and were aged anywhere from infants-adults.
