Dear Liberty Leader,

May you know that you were loved then and

I LOST MY HEART TO LIBERTY
My heart was rather rare
Looked just like a Teddy Bear.
Was loving, kind and fun to hold,
And it wasn't even very old.
Said it was mine and had come to stay.
Then all of a sudden just went away!
Please if you see my heart,
Would you send it home right away!
If at first, you are not sure, that it's
my heart you see.
Just ask it, if it remembers

of 1st through 6th graders snickered at this little one's mistake.
But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall,
proudly holding her "W". Although many teachers tried to shush
the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was
raised, and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience
and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood - the

loud and clear: CHRIST WAS LOVE. And, I believe, He still is.

The Reason For The Season

As we near the time of Christmas, we see the decorations going up. the people
madly shopping for gifts. the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Now is
the time to stop and reflect just why we really celebrate this time. As Christians,
we are the only ones who know the real meaning of Christmas and why it is a
time of celebration and what that celebration means to all who will believe. If
there were no Jesus, there would be no Christmas.
As you see the many slogans being pandered around you, take time every day to
explain the real meaning of what is being said.... "Peace on earth, good will to
men"... "Joy to the world"... "Hark, the herald Angels sing"... "'round yon virgin,
mother and Child". Think about what each of these things means to you as a
born again believer, then share them with others - especially with others who
don't know Jesus or understand his incredible, eternal, unconditional love for us
all. As you prepare your gift list, be sure to make the first gift for everyone on
your list the free gift of

Snow!! Perfect Backdrop For Parade

Wow is all I can say. I believe from what I have heard from most, this was the first
time it has snowed during a Liberty Parade. It was so cool to see this white fluff
falling as the parade made its way down the street. Yes it was cold and several of
the entries did not show due to weather, but we still had a great parade. The spec-

LIBERTY
tators did not let the white stuff stop them. I believe everyone left the parade and
hit the grocery store after wards. Do not know what chemical is in snow that trig-
gers our minds to head to grocery store to buy milk, eggs and bread, but the park-
ing lot was full.  I posted several picks to my facebook, so check them out, you can
see a few in the paper. Having the Randolph County Brass band on a trailer playing was so unique
touch. Several asked about our local high school bands. Well both bands had a conflict of some shorts
and really hated not being here. Providence Grove HS band directors is a husband and wife team and
she was due any day, so I give them a great excuse. Randleman  High School agreed to fill our gap by
stepping in at last moment.  This year had some very unique entiries.  I think this is what make a small
town so great, seeing all your friends at a local parade. I put an entry in the parade and my daughter
and two of her best friends dressed up as elves. I do not know what I enjoyed more, the decorating of
the car with my daughter, to listening to all the laughter from my daugther and her friends in the back
seat, or seeing all the friends as I drove down the street. Regardless of which was the best, is the fact I
had and awesome time. See you at the next great event. This years first place float went to Church Of
God Of Prophecy, second place went to Pleasant Hill Christian Church and third place went to the
Girl Scout Troop. This is what makes a home parade so great, seeing all the home made
floats. This year as in years past, Celebrate Liberty’s Children presented
books to all the children in the parade. This year they went out with
1,000 books. Several kids now look to get them a new book each year.
See you at the next great Liberty Event. You know there’s something
about Liberty.... I think it is the people...what do you think?

You may remember one of our guest writers that was a young
gentleman by the name of Jonathan Branch. Well he as been busy
attending UNC-Chapel Hill, but still to visit Liberty. He knew I was in the
parade and was gracious enough to take the pictures of the parade. Which was a
great gift for me. So Thanks Jonathan Branch for keeping Liberty in your heart.

So often these days we see Christmas with the

‘Christ’ taken out and replaced with an ‘X’. It’s
almost as if it’s a nameless celebration. We as
Christians know how far from the truth that is.
We read here of angels appearing to the shep-
herds and declaring the birth of Jesus “Son of
David – who is the Christ (the Messiah)”. It is in
no way a ‘nameless’ event – but a wonderful
celebration of the greatest event – the birth of
Christ, and the reconciliation to God He brought
to us all.

So let’s keep the ‘Christ’ in Christmas.

Christmas must always start with Christ

For He has saved us and changed our lives
