Summary

On Saturday morning we came to visit TSMC. I have heard of this company, it is the world's
largest professional integrated circuit manufacturing service company.
The exhibition is divided into three parts:
1.A world of Innovation.This gallery shows how continuous integrated circuit(IC)innovation has
made ICs pervasive in our daily lives. ICs are tiny, yet they enormously enrich the way we live and
drive technology beyond our imagination. 2.Unleashing Innovation.This gallery explores how
TSMC's dedicated IC foundry business model helps unleash innovation in the global IC industry.
3.TSMC Founder,Dr. Morris Chang, This exhibit introduces the person whose contributions to the
global IC industry continue to impact our lives today.
These three exhibition areas well reflect the company's mission, vision and core values.
1 What impressed me most about the visit was innovation. Innovation has made the
company successful.
Innovation is the driving force behind TSMC’s continuous growth. The Company attends to
feedback from customers, focuses on research and development, provides the highest standard
of information security, and serves customers with leading-edge technology and solutions to help
them gain a competitive edge in the market through high quality, low-power, next generation
sustainable products.
TSMC focused on technology development,design ecosystem establishment,and wafer
manufacturing,they push IDMs evaluate not investment in technology development and fab
construction,and began outsourcing wafer manufacturing to TSMC.
Dr.Morris Chang’s Innovation business model greatly lowered the threshold needed to establish
an IC design company by solving the challenges of increased complexity of technology
development and the sizable investment wafer manufacturing fabs.
These Innovation have made semiconductors ubiquitous in our lives and have significantly
improved our lives.
2 Second is customers.TSMC aims to help customers achieve success and become their
trusted business partner and does not compete with its customers . To provide the best service to
customers, TSMC has established a customer service team dedicated to both serving as a
communication portal and providing world-class service in every stage of production, including
design, mask making, wafer manufacturing and processing, and testing.
3 Third is about CSR.I am very impressed with the actions this company has taken to take
on social responsibility.An enterprise has numerous stakeholders .The three most important
stakeholders are stakeholders,employees,and society.It’s the responsibilities of a business to the
society as one of it’s stakeholders .TSMC goes about fulfilling social responsibility,they do so on
many fronts and work hard on them.It’s a company with integrity,it’s a company with
commitment,and it’s a company with a high degrees of business ethics.They never ever get
entangled in state-business relations and absolutely opposed to corruption and never engage in
bribery.The company tries to save social resources,like electricity and water,etc,and also strives
to maintain the environment and endeavor to not contribute to environmental pollution.They
abide by the law,and undertake many public welfare activities,they don’t just financial donations
but devote their time and energy,for instance,the TSMC Volunteers Society not only makes
monetary donations but also hosts over 2000 volunteers who contribute their time and energy to
various causes.

Reflection
1 It is great to have the opportunity to visit such a large company. The TSMC Museum of
Innovation is full of a sense of technology, fully showing the company's product characteristics,
distinctive features, and detailed explanations, I fully understand the company's innovation
process and results.
The introduction of the project director gave us a basic understanding of the overall operation of
the company, and we can learn a lot. In general, except for the bad weather, the interview
experience was very pleasant.
2 In terms of sustainable value creation, this is very important for the company's continued
success and development and even a century-old company. In addition to showing the company's
past development and the results it has achieved, it may be able to focus on showing us more
about continuous creation content.
For example, what kind of capital does the management model use as investment?
How did these capitals achieve their goals? What are the core elements? (Such as senior
management support, middle management participation, corporate social responsibility
committee, organizational culture), how do the elements promote management? What
management capabilities are needed? (Such as enterprise management, innovation research
management, customer relationship management, supply chain management, etc.), what effect
can these management capabilities promote?
It is hoped that the specific examples of company visits and the knowledge of books going to
school can be combined so that we can have a deep understanding of the knowledge of books,
rather than being limited to a templated business model. The theoretical knowledge in the book
is derived from the actualization and sublimation. We put actual cases into the theoretical model
during the learning process, so that we can have a more in-depth understanding of knowledge
points, and we can be more flexible in the future apply the theory to practical cases.
