USABILITY

1.1 Objective
1. Students able to understand the concept of usability.
2. Students able to practice the usability test.
3. Students able to know usability problem on the website.
4. Students able to analyze usability level and factors affecting specific website.

1.2 Tutorial Assignment

The observers were given two websites to be analyzed for the usability of the
website. In this time the observer got Zalora and Elevenia. The first step that the observer
did was planning, determine what, who, where, when, why and how, then search the user
by questionnaire and interview. The user for one website is 10 user, so the observer
search 20 user for two websites. The user then given task to accomplish, there is two
types of task, easy and hard. From the task the observer analyze the usability of the
websites by the data receive.

1.4. Tutorial Planning

1.4.1 What?

a. Objective

The observers want to know the usability of the website that were
given by the study case by certain method to test the efficiency and error.

b. Description

The observer use performance method to test the usability of the

websites. In this method, the observers use minimum of 10 users to one
web. The observer use performance method because the result can easily
to compare and the user do the test by themselves so all the feedback are
from the users.

Figure 1. The website appearance of Zalora.co.id

Figure 2. The website appearance of Elevenia.co.id

c. Attributes

The observers choose 2 attributes for this test, the first one is
efficiency and the second one is error.

d. Tasks

1. Zalora.co.id

Easy: Open shoes section

Hard: Find the cheapest sneaker from clearance sale

2. Elevenia.co.id

Easy: Open shoes section

Hard: Find product that have the biggest discount from daily deals
section

1.4.2 Why?

To give redesign to the website, so the user can easily find the
information

1.4.3 When?

After product, the website already known so the observer want to

redesign it to become more informatic.

1.4.4 Who?

b. User

Novice user, user that open the website less than 5 times per month

c. The number of Sample

For each websites the observer use 10 users, so total sample are
20 user.

1.4.5 Where?

Everywhere the users are. The observer choose real work as the
simulator for the user but with UII Connect so the user must be in UII area
and use observer laptop.

1.4.6 How?

The observer come to where the users are, then explain to them
about the simulator and what they have to do.
