WATER STORAGE TANK
1 Water storage tanks shall be maintained full or at the designed water level

2 Test level indicators for accuracy and freedom of movement and operation

3 Check the exterior of the tank,supporting structure, vents, foundation,

ladders,where provided,for signs of obvious damage or weakening
The area surrounding the tank and supportiong structure, where provided,
4 shall be inspected to ensure that the following conditons are met:
The area is free of combustible storage, trash,debris,brush or material that
5 could present a fire exposure hazard.
The area if free of the accumulation of material on or near parts that could
6 result in accelerated corrosion or rot.

7 The tank and supports are free of corrosion.

8 Expansion joints, where provided, shall be inspected for leaks and cracks.
Exterior painted, coated, or insulated surfaces of the tank and supporting
9 structure, where provided, shall be inspected for signs of degradation.
When interior inspection is made by means of underwater evaluation, silt shall
10 first be removed from the tank floor.
Tank interior shall be inspected for signs of pitting,corrosion,spalling,rot,other
11 forms of deterioration, waste materials and debris, aquatic growth, and local
or general failure of interior coating.

Steel tanks exhibiting signs of interior paiiting, corrosion or failure of coating

12 shall ve subjected to furthere investigation.
Tanks on ring-type foundations with sand in the middle shall be inspected for
13 evidence of voids beneath the floor.
14 Tank internal coating for pin holes, cracks and failure.etc.
