MY REFLECTION ABOUT PATTERNS OF DEVELOPMENT

I learned a lot in this topic, this topic taught me that in order for a learner to learn

specifically in reading and writing, there is certain process that we need to follow

because as we compare it to the reading and and writing there is a certain process or

pattern that we need to follow. It also helps the readers and writers to read and

write comprehensively. By doing this it only means that you will become a good

reader or writer. Patterns of development helps us sort out information and shape

paragraphs or essay. They can help organize an outline, or depending on the purpose

they can determine the form that a paper will take. It will also help the writer and

the reader to identify what they are reading it’s either narration, description,

definition etc., and it will serve as a guide to the reader to read and write correctly

based on the patterns of development.

MY REFLECTION ABOUT TEXT AS A CONNECTED DISCOURSE

As I read the topic the text as connected discourse of topic is a

formal,lengthy discussion of topic,and also talks to its readers and the discourse

presents insights that are organized in logical manner.The language is used to convey

meaning,proper action,and provoke a response.I can say that, what is the connection

of connected discourse in reading and writing.Connected speech is spoken language

that’s used in continuous sequence,as in normal conversation. Or also called

connected discourse and all ideas in the text must be related in the sense that they

would express only one main idea,or that the text must have unity by combining all
ideas to emphasize central idea central.It have one characteristics of connected

discourse is the deletion or clipping of sounds that occurs when words run together.I

have here an example of words “want to” can become “wanna”,”going to” become

“gonna”, and lastly “rock and roll become”rock ‘n’ roll”.

MY REFLECTION ABOUT PROPERTIES OF A WELL-WRITTEN TEXT

I can say this topic have four main characteristics and that is a topic

sentence ,unity,coherence,and adequate development.Writer can write properly

with this tips that is Be specific,consider two sentence,choose simple words,write

short sentence,use active voice,keep paragraph short ,eliminate ,fluff words and

don’t ramble it.Writing is an essential job skill.Writing is the primary basis upon

which one’s work ,learning,and intellect will be judged.Writing equips us with

communication and thinking skills.Writing expresses who we are as people.Also have

a text structure refers to how the information within a written text is organized helps

students understand that a text might present a main idea and

details.Writer can analyze the structure of a work of non-fiction,writer determine

which of the five organizational patterns are present in the text:chronological,cause-

and-effect.Lastly the mechanic are conventions that have to be considered in writing
