What is Battlefield?

 Battlefield is an activity which is organized by our


institute in order to experience the market in real
conditions.
 It helps students to implement the basic functions
of management i.e planning, staffing, controlling,
directing and organizing in practical situation.
 It urges students to build co-ordination between
them and work as a team for the smooth
functioning of the activity.
 This activity teaches us to think and act in difficult
situations and taking the right decision as per the
situation persist.
Why is Battlefield
Organized? (Objective)
 The concept behind the activity is that students have
to sell various products in the Market it could be
Eatables, Decoration Stuff , Clothes or any other
innovative products.
 The very essence of this activity is to bring out the
hidden Entrepreneurial qualities of the students such
as Risk taking Ability, Decision Making ,Leadership
etc so that it can be learnt &understood more easily
by doing practical rather than reading theory in class
room.
 The profits which the students will earn from this
activity would be utilized for the social cause &
betterment of underprivileged people of the society
as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) .
Why did we chose the location?

 Muktidham is a prominent tourist spot of the city.


 It is one of the busiest street food spot preferred
by the people.
 Many devotees in and around the city do visit the
location.
 Raw Material was easily available from this
location.
 Location was easily feasible for every team
member.
How we decided the
Product?
 The market survey was done by the team
members to analyze which type of product/item
the people tend to buy, is in demand or is
consumed by the people at faster rate in the
market.
 So we visited few prominent market places
around the city and conducted an small survey.
On the basis of survey feedback we decided to
sell most consumable items i.e. snacks.

How we Attracted
customers?
Prior to starting of activity we promoted
our group logo,invitation,banner on our
social media handles
(Instagram,Facebook,Twitter,etc).
During the activity we made them aware
by spreading the word by interacting
with the people around the location.
Maintaining Hygiene by wearing hand
gloves, apron and keeping eatables
wrapped at all times.
How Capital Investment
was calculated?
 A List of all the Raw Materials,accessories that
would be required for the activity was prepared
by the team members.
 Cost of each and every item was listed from
market and total investment required was
calculated by adding all the costs.
 This total cost was divided with the number of
group members and per head cost was
calculated.
Planning

 Planning is an important factor for any activity.


 In this phase we decided the group name, logo
design,tagline and budget.
 Further the list of potential locations was
prepared.
 Market Survey was done by the group members
in the potential locations.
 Product price, quality and quantity of
competitors was also studied.
Staffing

 In this phase SWOT(strengths, weaknesses,


opportunities, and threats) analysis was done
for each and every member of the group.
 Based on the SWOT analysis each and every
member was given role and responsibility
accordingly.
 Various Roles like Marketing,Chef,Cashier were
assigned to each and every team member
Organinzing

 In this Phase we prepared various strategies to


implement our plan decided in previous phase.
 Accessories required for the activity like tables,
utensils, stove, gas, umbrellas, water jars etc
were booked in advance.
 Permission for setting up stall at the favoured
location was taken from concerned authorities
prior to starting of activity.
Controlling

 Totally there were 8 members in our group.


 among which 4 were appointed for marketing,
planning was done by 2 members and the
cooking work was done by 5 members.
 All the controlling of cash was totally given to
one person for proper management.
 All the work was done in a proper format and
hence this event was success.

What Improvements
were Needed?
 As the crowd increased at a rapid rate our raw
material was also exhausted at same rate,
because of Which we started purchasing the
raw materials from near by vicinity.
 Hence the cost of newly purchased raw material
was more costly then the previously purchased
raw material which in turn led us to loss.
 Prior Forecasting of Crowd and on the spot
expenses incurred should had been handled
more wisely.

 We would like to express our gratitude toward Our


respected Principal Prof. Dr.S T Gandhe Sir, Our
HOD Prof. Dr.Rakesh Patil Sir and Our Staff
Members for giving us valuable time and
Suggestions.
 We would also like to thank our mentors for giving
there guidance and always supporting to us and
thanks to all group members for supporting each
other and make this activity Successful.
 Further we would like to thanks all the
stakeholders who were involved during and before
the activity without their help the activity would
not be so successful
