-1- How to Download and Install

The instructions may vary depending on the Windows® 8 version.

• Remove the CD-ROM before starting the installation procedure.

• You must be logged on as an Administrator.
• If the User Account Control dialog box appears, click “Yes”.
• If the Windows Security dialog box appears, check “Always trust software from- - - - - -“.
and click “Install”.

Step 1: Disconnect your machine from your computer if you already connected an interface cable.

Step 2: Make a temporary folder or directory on your HDD [hard disk drive] as the location to save the downloaded
self-extracting file, e.g. C:¥Temp

Step 3: Download the file to the temporary folder or directory.

Once the download is complete, open the folder or directory and double click on the downloaded file to extract it.

Step 4: Double click "DPInst.exe" in the folder created in Step 3. Please note there aren't any install screens or dialogue
boxes after double clicking. Go to Step 5.

Step 5: Connect the machine to your computer.

Step 6: You need to make sure if the installation of original printer and scanner drivers is complete.
-2- How to Scan a document in Windows® 8.

You can scan a document using one of the following methods:

• Method 1: Windows FAX and Scan

• Method 2: Paint

Method 1: Windows FAX and Scan

1. Load your document on to your machine.

2. On the Start screen, right click somewhere on the empty spot (1), and then click “All Apps” from the bar (2).

3. Click “Windows Fax and Scan”.

 4. Click “New Scan”.

5. Select the devices installed on your computer, choose your scanner and click “OK”.

6. Set scanning options, and then click “Scan”.

7. The scanned image will be displayed.
Method 2: Paint

1. Load your document on to your machine.

2. On the Start screen, right click somewhere on the empty spot (1), and then click “All Apps” from the bar (2).

3. Click “Paint”.
4. Click File, and then click “From scanner or camera”.

5. Select the devices installed on your computer, choose your scanner and click “OK”

6. Set scanning options and then click “Scan”.

7. The scanned image will be displayed.
