About Robin Hood Army

Robin hood army is a volunteer based zero fund based organization that works that helps to
surplus and left over food from restaurants and communities to serve less fortunate people.

It started in 2014 and presently it is active in 178 cities and 12 countries all over the world. The
main idea of the organization is to contact restaurants and ask them if they can donate the
leftover food to us. The volunteers go and collect food and distribute food to the less fortunate. It
is basically called a Food drive. As volunteers serves food drive on Sunday from their side and
takes helps from their contacts for the drive.

It also works because of donors who willingly come forward and donate food and it is
subsequently distributed. Contacting caterers and common people and telling them about the
activity has helped alot. Many a times we get calls from people saying that we have excess food
left over in our function and we collect it and perform a food drive. Along with the main agenda
of making sure that the needy get food we also have started educating the children under the
campaign RHA ACADEMY

RHA ACADEMY works for the students who have passion for doing something in any filed like
some are good in studying, sports, singing, dancing, etc they identify students from backwards
society and help them to nurture their talent.

Some achievements of RHA:-

2014 :- there are only 200 robins in 8 cities it was modeled on Portugal’s food program, the robin
hood project started in Delhi.

2015 :- there are 2314 robins in 21 cities as they grew from social media, and some passionate
mew recruits help them to grow and build there base. From India they started moving from
neighbouring Pakistan to serve people.

2016: - there are 2,314 Robins in 21 Cities, through social media, some passionate new recruits,
and a healthy seasoning of luck, the RHA expands across Indian cities and in a landmark move
into neighbouring Pakistan.

2017: - there are 6,375 Robins in 32 Cities, the RHA expands its base across international
borders, and sets up the Robin Hood Academy — a feeder program where Robins teach and
enable hundreds of street children to pursue primary education.

2018: - there are 10,350 Robins in 48 Cities, the RHA undertakes its most ambitious project —
#Mission1Million and successfully mobilizes media houses, corporates, and artists, to unite
Indians and Pakistanis to serve 1.32 million less fortunate citizens on both sides of the border on
Independence Day.

About INTERNSHIP

How long you worked?

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur gave us the opportunity to work with NGO of our
choice for 60-70 hours which were to be completed in a week starting from 5 th october 2019 to
14th February 2020.

What all places you worked?

During this internship we worked at three different places. Initially, our team started work at V.T
road slum. There we taught them and conducted some games for them. We realised that our team
was too big for the small slum so I with 4 other members of that team started going to KGP slum
area. After that we moved to Gyan ashram slum and we taught them about how talk with others
and for remaining days we worked at Gyan ashram area.

What all you did?

I became part of Robin Hood Academy where the work was to teach children. It is was quite
difficult for us to gather children there as Robin Hood Army was not running Academy in that
KGP slum and we had to start from scratch. People there especially parents of children were not
very keen to let their kids come to us. After that we divided our time for some basic learnings
and games. First of all, we made everybody learn some basic things which included name days,
month, body parts and colours. At the end of day we used to play games with them. We covered
some important topics where we made them understand about hygiene, importance of education,
child abuse. Along with Academy work, we conducted food drives for them and on last day we
distributed clothes as well.
Who all did you meet?

While doing the WISH I had the opportunity to meet Mr Rajil, Ms Pratisksa and other members
of Robin Hood Army. Also, we have made good rapport with kids of the slum. They became our
friends in such small span of time. It was a humbling experience and made us thank God for
giving us such privileged gift of life.
EXPERIENCE SHARING

WISH program was an entirely different encounter for me. The entry level position has helped
me see the genuine truth of the things which we see from far away. I had never really thought so
about the issues of the individuals who lives in slum yet when I visited slum, I understood how
extraordinary is their lives from us. The fundamental things for us become their extravagances.
They drudge day and night to get nourishing dinners. I was glad to be a piece of Robin Hood
Army in light of the fact that with this association I had the option to fulfill their essential need
of nourishment and furthermore through Academy program had the option to have some
beneficial outcome in lives of youngsters. At the point when I went to KGP Slum just because I
was dishearten to realize that numerous children from that point don't go school and many have
dropped themselves out of school. They had desires for splendid future yet were secured by
clothes and unspecialized temp jobs. Robin Hood Army was not running their foundation
program there so it was bit hard for us to begin it yet our group accepting it as a test and gave our
best to carry these youngsters to us and give them some essential instruction. At first it was hard
to pick up their trust yet once they acknowledged us, they gave their heart to us. Kids there were
progressively energized for learning and would request that we give them some schoolwork. Our
group trained them barely any essential things like names of body part, colours, days and etc.
Their energy for learning turned into my motivation. Additionally, I figured out how to discover
joy in little things.

The learnings from the wish program have been many. Likewise, I saw by what means should
we deal with each circumstance in a manner which is generally reasonable. While, we were at
slum we must be exceptionally obliging of each kid. We initially turned into their companion and
afterward coaches. The entire program looked simple however required loads of arranging at our
end. We as a group sat together and chose what should we show them.

One thing which I have comprehended in the wake of finishing WISH is that everybody on us
needs to stretch out some assistance to elevate our general public towards improvement. Each
little exertion by us has a major effect. Additionally, we must be exceptionally appreciative to
god to favor us with such special life.
