INTRODUCTION

The world is open to the new millennium, opening a new era of fierce competition and ever-
changing value equations. The fact that the organization has switched from a structured production
orientation to an assembly line to a knowledge creation that is intended by every staff member of
the organization. In a competitive global business scenario, no company will survive unless it can
handle the duality and costs of its competitors. Reality challenges us to focus more on changing
employees' attitudes, allowing them to take on independent responsibilities and enabling them to
perform use their knowledge and skills in the latest technologies, encouraging them to use their
skills in their respective areas of excellence.

The emerging business environment forces companies to find new ways to remain competitive.
Organizations are faced with an environment that is characterized by a number of important
challenges and problems that have increased the importance of human resource management
considerations in decision making. These include the increased level of competition, the diversity of
human resources, the evolution of value systems and, above all, rapid technological progress. In the
difficult and globally competitive business scenario, our success will largely be achieved for a large
part, influenced by how we manage our human resources - the people who make things happen. The
traditional role of leaders has undergone profound changes to meet the challenges of the new
millennium and achieve excellence. Responsible unionism, productivity-driven working methods
and dynamic professional management are essential. Foreign investment and technology began to
flow to India. The new scenario has also introduced new challenges in the field of personnel
management. People are the most valuable part of an organization. The success or failure of a
company depends largely on the people who run it. In the words of Alfred Marshall "the most One
of the most valuable assets is the ability that is invested in people. From a social point of view a
company combines two types of resources: a group of people and a group of material goods. The
last in isolation from the first is useless. Job satisfaction is one of the important factors that has also
caught the attention of the managers of the organization

In the literature on industrial psychology, the term job satisfaction is often used to refer to
individual attitudes to specific aspects of the overall work situation. The word "task" refers to a
specific task in which the term "job satisfaction" refers to higher tasks, in which it is essentially
related to human needs and their fulfillment through work. It is generated by the individual's
perception of how much his work meets his different needs. It is often said that "a happy employee
is a productive employee". Job satisfaction is very important because most people spend a lot of
their lives at work. In addition, job satisfaction also affects the overall life of employees because a
satisfied employee is a satisfied and happy person. A very satisfied employee has better physical
and mental well-being. Although it is questionable to know what is the cause and what is the effect,
but there are correlations with each other.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The study aims to achieve the following objectives:

 To know the profile of “Joen Packers & Mover”

 To study the effect of job satisfaction on the organizational performance and the relation
between job satisfaction and organizational performance.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

For the purpose of the study, both primary and secondary data have been used. The primary data
was collected by using questionnaire method. Secondary data are collected from books, journals,
company manuals, company website, company magazines and informal talk with the officers and
the employees of the company.
JOB SATISFACTION - MEANING AND DEFINITION

Job satisfaction refers to the feeling of job satisfaction that motivates work. It's not self-satisfaction,
happiness or self-satisfaction, but job satisfaction. Satisfaction means the simple feeling that
accomplishment is accompanied by an impulse of its purpose. Research staff describe in different
ways the factors that contribute to job satisfaction and dissatisfaction at work. Job satisfaction stems
from employees' perceptions of the extent to which their work offers the elements deemed
important. It is generally recognized in the field of organizational behavior that job satisfaction is
the most important and most often studied attitude.

FACTORS AFFECTING JOB SATISFACTION

Working Conditions

Because employees spend a lot of time every week in their working environment, it is important
that companies want to optimize their working conditions. Spacious rather than limited workplaces,
sufficient lighting and comfortable workplaces contribute to favorable working conditions.
Providing productivity tools, such as improved information technology to help employees
accomplish tasks more efficiently, also contributes to job satisfaction.

Opportunity for Advancement

Employees are more satisfied with their current job if they find a way to go up the ladder of the
company and get more responsibility, as well as higher wages. Many companies encourage
employees to acquire more advanced skills that give them a chance of promotion. Companies often
pay tuition fees for employees who, for example, follow a university education. In an employee's
annual performance review, a supervisor has to set out a path by showing him what he needs to
accomplish and the new skills he needs to develop to make progress on the path of the organization.
Workload and Stress Level

Dealing with too much workload and unattainable deadlines can affect job satisfaction, even for the
most dedicated employees. Failure to comply with deadlines leads to conflicts between employees
and supervisors and increases the stress level of the workplace. Often this environment is due to
inefficient management and poor planning. The office operates in a crisis mode because supervisors
do not give staff sufficient time to perform the tasks assigned to them effectively or because there
are not enough people.

Respect from Co-Workers

Employees try to be treated with respect by those with whom they work. A hostile work
environment - with coarse or obnoxious colleagues - is generally less satisfied. Managers must
intervene and resolve conflicts before they degenerate into more serious problems that require
disciplinary action. Employees may need to be reminded of what behavior is inappropriate in
dealing with colleagues.

Relationship with Supervisors

Effective managers know that their employees need recognition and appreciation for their efforts
and achievements. Employees should also be aware that their supervisor's door is always open to
discuss their concerns that prevent them from working effectively and preventing their satisfaction
at the office.

Financial Rewards

Satisfaction at work is influenced by the perspective of the employee on the fairness of the
compensation scale of the company and the current compensation that they can receive. Companies
must have a mechanism to evaluate employee performance and increase the salaries of top
performers. The opportunities to earn special incentives, such as bonuses, paid holidays or holidays,
are also a source of enthusiasm and satisfaction for the work.
CAUSES OF JOB SATISFACTION

Company Culture

When employees like their colleagues and find an interface between their colleagues and their
managers, they are generally more satisfied at work. When employees have contact with colleagues
and develop personal relationships, they are generally happier at work. Overall job satisfaction is
also related to the way employees get along with their immediate supervisors. Recruitment
managers and small business owners should look for employees with similar backgrounds and
tastes as their current staff and hire those who easily fit into the company's current culture.

Interesting Work
Employees are most satisfied when they find their work interesting. By maintaining a certain degree
of autonomy, employees can develop their own challenges and find ways to overcome obstacles to
a more satisfactory work experience. The challenges and diversity in daily life also make the work
interesting. Although the nature of some jobs does not usually lead to a varied working day,
successful managers need to find ways to meet the challenges of employees and vary their daily
routines to assume different responsibilities.

Rewards and Incentives

Although compensation is not always the most important reason for the job satisfaction of an
employee, it does not hurt. Incentives, such as bonuses and salary increases, can often help
employees overcome their bad attitudes towards other, less enjoyable work areas. When employees
receive rewards for a good job, they often feel more satisfied with their work. Incentives such as
improved workspace, a few days of extra paid holidays and other benefits can significantly improve
employee satisfaction. Stock options and profit sharing can give employees a sense of ownership in
the company and offer increasing satisfaction when the results of their work appear in a check.

Low Stress

Employees who experience persistent stress and work pressure can develop apathy, fatigue, muscle
tension, headaches, substance abuse problems and high blood pressure. Job satisfaction increases
when employees can enjoy a stress-free environment in which they know they are valued and are
not afraid to lose their jobs if they make a mistake. Employees can use self-care techniques, such as
following a healthy diet, eliminating negative thoughts and resolving conflicts when they occur. At
the same time, as a leader you can maintain open and clear communication, give employees control
over their production and congratulate effective employees.

FINDINGS AND CONCLUSION

The following are the findings of the study:

• Most of the employees are less experienced, though experienced employees are also there in
the company. These experienced employees train the new employees of the company.
Training makes an employees better at his work.

• Most of the employees are satisfied with the working environment of the company, though
there are a few who are dissatisfied with the work environment.

• Another conclusion we can draw from the analysis of the survey that some of the employees
are not satisfied with the salary they are being paid for the work done by them in the
organization. Wages and pay are important factors that affect the job satisfaction of the
employee.

• The company provides a recreation club for the employees, and most of the employees are
satisfied with the functioning of the club. This is one important factor which will reduce the
work stress of the employees.

• The employees are satisfied with the motivation given to them by the superior officers.

• Most of the employees are satisfied with the incentives and medical benefits given to them.

• Majority of the employees are satisfied with the canteen facilities provided by the
organization.

From the following analysis and study we can conclude that:

In the organization, most employees are satisfied, although some of he employees are not satisfied
with the resources and facilities available to them. Management must come up with the new ideas
to make employees happy, because only satisfied employees can be productive for the company.

Although compensation (wages and benefits) is important for job satisfaction, research has never
supported the idea that reward is the determining factor in job satisfaction or that people in high-
paying jobs are more satisfied than employees in poor-paying jobs. Even though they are asked,
employees often say that paying is an essential satisfaction for their work, money does not always
make employees happy. According to recent studies, the main reasons for employee dissatisfaction
are the fact that employees do not like their boss, feel powerless, have no say in their work and do
not feel recognized as such. Remember that job satisfaction depends to a large extent on personality
and perception to be changed. If you work more positively by focusing on the positive aspects of
your work and spending less time thinking about problems, and in particular complaining about
your work, you can increase your job satisfaction. Improving your communication and human skills
can help you better understand your colleagues and managers and increase your job satisfaction. It
can also increase your chances for growth, your chances for progress and higher wages.
