Lesson 3: Do You Like Spicy Food?
Dear Students,
Now you are learning how to express likes and dislikes. Please do the
following tasks.
Sara : Hello Dea, have you tried the new menu in the restaurant near the
campus?
Sara : Yes, it did. I think you will like it because the sauce is sweet and spicy.
3. Read this note and apply your knowledge on it when you practice
speaking.
To express likes and dislikes, you use the simple present tense. If the subject
of a sentence is the third singular person, (like Riri, Irvan, Niki, a student, a
teacher, etc.) or third singular pronoun (like he, she, and it), you need to use
verb which is added with -s or –es in affirmative statement. If the subject is
other than the third singular person or pronoun, you use the base form of
verb. In a negative statement and a question you apply auxiliary do or does,
depending on the subject, and the base form of verb.
