AMENDMENT OF THE DIRECTIONS ISSUED IN TERMS OF REGULATION 10(7)

OF THE REGULATIONS MADE IN UNDER SECTION 27(2) OF THE DISASTER
MANAGEMENT ACT, 2002 (Act No. 57 of 2002): MEASURES TO PREVENT AND
COMBAT THE SPREAD OF COVID -19 IN THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES

I, Fikile Mbalula, MP, Minister of Transport, hereby in terms of regulation 10(7) (b) of
the Regulations issued in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 (Act No. 57 of
2002) amends Government Notice No. 412 published in Government Gazette No.
43157 of 26 March 2020 by addition of Direction 6 (4) of the following:

"6 (4) Buses and taxis shall be permitted to operate from 05h00 until 20h00 in order to
cater the transportation needs of South Africans most vulnerable which is effective
from 30 March 2020 until 03 April 2020 ".

This amendment Notice shall come into effect on the date of publication in the
Government Gazette.

NATIONAL ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1996 (ACT NO. 93 OF 1996)

DETERMINATION OF EXTENTION FOR
THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF A
LEARNER'S LICENCE, DRIVING
LICENCE CARD, LICENCE DiSC
,PROFESSIONAL DRIVING PERMIT
AND REGISTRATION OF A MOTOR
VEHICLE: FOR PURPOSES OF
LOCKDOWN (COVID-19)

I, Fikile Mbalula, MP, Minister of

Transport, acting in terms of section 18
(7) of the
National Road Traffic Act, 1996 (Act No.
93 of 1996), hereby extend the
licensing and
registration period as set out hereunder:

a) During the lock-down, the validity

period for learner's licence, driving
licence,
motor vehicle licence disk, temporary
permit, professional driving permit and
road worthy certificates shall be deemed
to be valid and shall be extended for
a further grace period of 30 days from
the date of expiry of a lock -down
period,
unless determined otherwise by the
Minister.
b) The validity period for the renewal
of a motor trade number licence during
the
lock -down, shall be deemed to be
valid and shall be extended for a further grace
period of 6 months from the date of
expiry of a lock-down period, unless
determined otherwise by the Minister.
c) Driving licence testing centres and
vehicle testing stations will remain
closed
during lock -down period.

This Notice shall become effective

from the date of publication in the
Gazette. Government

THE DIRECTIONS ISSUED IN TERMS OF REGULATION 11C (3) OF THE

REGULATIONS MADE IN UNDER SECTION 27(2) OF THE DISASTER
MANAGEMENT ACT, 2002 (ACT NO. 57 OF 2002): DECLARATION OF
ESSENTIAL SERVICES FOR PURPOSES OF COVID -19

I, Fikile Mbalula, MP, Minister of Transport, hereby, in terms of regulation 10(7) (b) of
the Regulations issued in terms of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 (Act No. 57
of 2002) hereby issue directions set out hereunder:

1) For the purpose of these directions the following services are declared as
essential services:

a) Tollgate operators

b) Road emergency operators

c) Employees responsible for safe operation of the roads

d) Rail logistic operators

This Notice shall become effective from the date of publication in the Government
Gazette.
