INTRODUCTION
To move forward according to group’s vision, in September 2011, another company “Big Bird Foods
(Pvt.) Limited” was established with the prime objectives to set up a poultry processing unit that would
provide processed quality chicken products in the local and international markets. Poultry processing
plant is located at Jambar Khurd on Multan road some 60 KMs from Lahore. At present this plant is one
of the most modern in the sub-continent, and is equipped with most current technology. Big Bird foods
has taken best global food technology brands on board e.g. Meyn (Netherlands), CFS (Netherlands), JBT
(Sweden), Ruhle (Germany), Lima (France), Ishida (UK), Caterpillar (USA), Haarslev (USA), Johnson
Controls (Denmark), Blucher (Sweden), Kingspan (Turkey), Mabani Steel (UAE), and Flowcrete (Malaysia)
to build the plant at international level.

About Big Bird Group

The idea to have some business venture was hatched out by Mr. Abdul Basit, the Chairman, along with
Dr. Muhammad Mustafa Kamal, a Veterinarian & Nutritionist, and Dr. Abdul Kareem, a Veterinarian &
Nutritionist. The venture started its operations from a small breeder farm and it stood as the
cornerstone of Big Bird’s future plan in the poultry business. This team of professional owners – cum
business operators managed this venture with great zeal along with cohesion, trust and hard work to
convert their vision into reality as one of the leading integrated poultry conglomerate. Al-Hamdulillah,
the dream turned as Big Bird Group having six constituent companies,
2600 direct people, business turnover of around Rs. 8.5 Billion, and having state of art operational
facilities across the Pakistan. Group is serving the nation & poultry sector through un-interrupted
provision of quality products & services like parent stock, day old broiler chicks, poultry & stock feed,
and diagnostic/lab services. During the last 27 years, Big Bird Group has emerged as one of the major
source of poultry production in Pakistan and now has stepped in consumer market and will serve the
consumers and customers with quality chicken meat (frozen/fresh chilled) and value added chicken
products.

Big Bird Food Beginning

Big Bird Foods is established with the prime objectives to set up a poultry processing unit that would
provide quality chicken products within the local and international markets. At present this plant is one
of the most modern, technologically advanced and hygiene conscious, which makes it one the most
trusted source of chicken products.
Big Bird chicken is raised on a properly balanced diet. Our birds are produced under a strictly health-
controlled environment which ensures the manufacturing of health & tasty chicken products. The air
chilled technology is used to process the chicken while keeping in mind the health and safety of
employees and consumers. Big Bird also makes sure that we provide you with Halal and premium quality
chicken products.

INTEGRATION:
The Group is engaged in vertically integrated poultry operation that starts from production of parent
stock, day old broiler chicks, and to provision of chicken meat and value-added products. We have feed
manufacturing unit also which is to feed our own birds at GP, breeder and broiler farms.

Facilities:
Big Bird Foods is part of Big Bird Group. Big Bird Group integrated poultry operation
starts with in-house Grandparent (Hubbard) parent stock, hatcheries, Feel mill, Boiler,
diagnostic laboratory to poultry processing and further processing plant.

Big Bird Foods is most modern and biggest poultry processing and further processing
plant in Pakistan, designed to meet international food safety and quality requirements.
This facility at its full production capacity will be able to process 200,000 chicken per
day. Facility is fully automatic and has latest air chilling system for carcass that ensures
added safety and quality in final product.

In further processing complete range of raw, par fried and fully cooked international and
ethnic value-added poultry products could be produced.
