This research capsule summarizes a proposed study on the use of differentiated instruction in an 8th grade Araling Panlipunan (social studies) class at a school in the Philippines. The study aims to determine if differentiated instruction improves academic performance. It will use a quantitative correlational research design. Data will be collected through Microsoft Excel surveys, questionnaires, and comparison of students' first and second quarter grades before and after a 7-week period of differentiated instruction. The analysis will include t-tests to compare grade averages and most proficient scores between the two quarters. If approved, this study could provide insights into how differentiated teaching methods impact student learning in social studies.
