Unit Aim:
To provide an opportunity for you to engage in an extended activity of research, application, reflection and presentation of a related to a
discipline of your choice and to embrace the opportunities to pursue vigorous research, individual expression and creativity.
Part 1: You need to REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING IN A RESEARCH PROOPOSAL AND OUTLINE AIMS FOR A
PROJECT, THEN RESEARCH & ANALYSE YOUR SUBJECT AREA and PLAN and REFLECT on an area of investigation.
a) Firstly, create your written project proposal in which you reflect on your learning, outline and evaluate your aims.
b) You need to create a pitch for which you need to research an area of interest thoroughly using a broad range of
resources. Your subject of interest must challenge your current strengths and capabilities in relation to a range of
practical, technical and research.
c) While researching constantly reflect on your achievements and actions within a production diary. It can be a visual
recorded one or written or ideally both.
d) You need to consider a potential audience and how to reach them through presentation, exhibition and distribution of
your potential creative piece- (at this stage you could set up a social media page for your project and show how your
project is developing.)
You must conduct a range of appropriate research activities in order to develop an informed basis in order to develop your
ideas- interviews, lighting and shot tests, foley and audio tests, acting workshops, discussions and meetings, analysis of
appropriate and relevant secondary material -books, paintings, photographs, installations museum objects, films, tv
programmes, podcasts, documentaries & tutorials.
