Gateway Online Class

H E L LO !

Session Two 2nd April

Hello again to the Gateway Gang!

In this document I have a written instructions to accompany the video I made for this
weeks class. I used household items for all projects so hopefully you will have some/all of
the materials at hand!

There are three options of tasks to complete this week. Once you have experimented
with each task, I would like you to try and combine the projects!

I hope you are all keeping well... I have missed you!

A flip book!
Materials needed : Paper, scissors, pen, sellotape/ stapler.
Step 1 -  Using a pencil/pen and a ruler (of sorts) divide your page into even strips.

Step 2 -  Take a handfull of sheets together and cut along your markings.
Step 3 -  Fold each strip in half and cut along the fold.

Step 4 -  Gather about 15 (it does not have to be exact) of theese small rectangles together.

Step 5 -  Ajust them to make sure they are straight by tapping one side against the table and staple.
Step 6 -  Make one or two or three of these small booklets and attach them together with sellotape. The more pages
you add the longer the animation.

Step 7 -  Trim the edges of your flip book so they are even.

Step 8 -  Now you want to choose something to depict to come to life in your flip book! I suggest something relatively
simple to start. The example I have used is a rainbow growing.
Step 9 -  Start drawing on the last page of your notebook!
Bubble Painting!
Materials needed : paper, washing up liquid, empty plastic
bottle, paint/ food colouring, piece of old material/ dish cloth.

Step 1 - Cut bottle in half and keep the side where the lid would be.
Step 2 - Make a bubble mix with water, washing up liquid and paint/ food colouring.
Step 3 - Hold the material tight around the base of the bottle.

Step 4 - Dip the material in to your bubble mixture and lightly blow through the lid of your
bottle over paper.

Step 5- Let the pages dry and draw on top of them!

Salt paintings!
Materials needed : Salt, water, glue, paper, food colouring/ water based paint.

Step 1 - Cover your page fully and evenly with glue.

Step 2 - Shake salt on geneously, allow to rest for 10 minutes.

Step 3 - Bring your page outside and skake excess salt off. Allow to fully dry.

Step 4 - Add colour! Either with water soluble paint mix or food colouring!

I hope you enjoy this weeks tasks, I challenge you to combine

some of the projects we have done so far... For example the
bubble painting and the notebook from last week!
THANK YOU!
Well Done!!
