Wireless LAN

I. Objective

1. To configure and construct a wireless LAN network using packet


tracer.

II. Procedure:

1. Add two wireless routers by clicking “Network Devices” and


“Wireless Devices”.
2. Add two wireless devices near every wireless router by clicking
“End Devices”. Each wireless should have a laptop and a smart
phone.
3. Click on “Network Devices” and a generic switch.
4. Then add a server from the “End Devices” button.
5. The wireless devices should be connected on the its nearby
wireless router. To create connection between the two, first
configure Wireless Router0. Click the router and choose the “GUI”
tab, configure the following as shown in Figure 1, 2, and 3. Save
the changes you made on each tab.
6. After saving the configuration made in Wireless Router0, the two
wireless devices (laptop and smart phone) are then configured
next. Configure the laptop by clicking the device itself. The
procedure in configuring the laptop is shown in Figure4 to Figure
8.
7. Configure the smart phone by following the procedures in
configuring the laptop in number 6. Just click the smart phone,
choose the “Config” tab and go to “Wireless”.

8. The two devices are connected to the wireless router as shown in


Figure 8.

9. Configure the other wireless router (Wireless Router1) by
following the same procedure. The setting parameters are shown
below:
Wireless Router1
IP Address: 192.168.2.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
IP Address Range of Device: 192.168.2.100-192.168.2.150
Network Name: AP2
Radio Band: Standard
Standard Channel: 5
Security Mode: WPA2 Personal
Passphrase: JoelDullin2
10. Connect the two wireless routers into the switch by automatically
choosing connection. Then connect the witch and the server.

11. Configure the Server and follow the settings shown in Figures 9,
10 and 11.

12. Then configure the two wireless routers with settings shown in
Figure 12 and 13.

13. The entire diagram of the wireless network is shown in Figure 14.
