exciting Fantastical story, where writer catapults its reader in a broader range of rationality to solve the
dilemma facing during life’. The main message of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s stone by J.K. Rowling is
the importance of rebellion and humility as could revealed through literary work and that is explained

Harry Potter and Sorcerer’s Stone book, helps its readers in enhancing questioning skills on daily
matters. Writer of the story narrates plot development and setting of her work, takes reader to an
imaginary world to understand the importance of rebellion in necessary situation. For instance, it was
not allowed for Hogwarts students to go to place where three headed dog was tied up. However it was
forbidden but Harry and his friends break into that room (Rowling, 162). Since this book is for young
children it’s very important stage of learning and taking any action is one of the important lessons in this
period of life. Harry represent young children, he is willing to break Hogwarts rule if it means doing
something what he believe is right. He break into that room in order to save the Sorcerer’s stone from
dark lord who wanted to steal it and use it against the well of Hogwarts.
Similarly the Sorting Hat (symbol houses), would send student to one of the houses either Gryffindor
house or Slytherin House. In the book, the initial intention of Sorting Hat was to put Harry in Slytherin
house. Here Harry refuse this decision, to be placed in the mentioned house, where he should follow the
path of Slytherin. Rowling did a profound job in designing the aim of Sorting Hat for harry. The costly
intention of sorting hat provoke Harry’s critical skills, and Harry was rebel enough to change the
direction of his path from Slytherin to Gryffindor. Sorting Hat was brilliant approach by Rowling, if she
would design Sorting Hat to put Harry’s name in Gryffindor from start, harry would not get chance to
Aside from the importance of rebellion, Humility was the other important lesson taught in the story
written by J.K Rowling. Quidditch sport, its exciting game and the important thing about this game is
that it’s a symbol of deeper virtues taught in Hogwarts. Harry after struggling and hardship be able to
break the record of Quidditch by catching Golden Snitch very soon (Rowling, 244). He tried very hard to
get the snitch not to show off but for common good. This is a lesson for reader’s especially young
children, to be humble in any situation either the peak of glory or in the darkest days of life. Despite all
his fame he stay modest and humble which is a best tragedy to take on in live.
In conclusion, Rowling through her writing indicated two core principle of life for young children which
are modesty and the rule of rebellion in necessary situation in an amazing way to capture her reader’s
attention. In the same way entertaining them with things they love like Magical Sorting Hat or Wand to
do the magic to gain interests of young children. This way of introducing a child to a lesson is more
legitimate because children learn the most form what they see, hear or interact with.
