On August 22, 2019, the Rural Health Unit of Victoria conducted a Mass Blood Donation Activity.
The Rotary Club of Victoria was invited to participate and through RCV’s continued support with
different agencies, the Mass Blood Donation activity was a success.

The RCV agreed in its regular meeting on August 11, 2019 that a fund raising project will be
conducted called “Dinner for a Cause”to be used for its projects inasmuch as the club has no
funds to use. There is no membership fee collected and the members financially contribute in
every activity.It was a successful project and the RCV was able to raise some funds. Sumptuous
dinner was served during the event with entertainment from the famous local band, the Alona
band.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT: First Search for the Outstanding Police Officer of the
Municipality of Victoria. CP Cecille Salazar planned with Chairman Rod Bantigue and criteria
was drafted. A committee was formed to take charge of the said Search in coordination with the
Chief of Police. Five police officers were selected as outstanding in different categories.Plaques
and cash gifts were given to the awardees.

The project was very much appreciated by the people and by the police task force of the
Municipality of Victoria. It was the first time that such attention and honor to the police officer

TITLE: “ Para Polio ay Maiwasan, 2 Patak ang Kailangan”

October 24 is a World Polio Day. The RCV celebrated the day by going around the nearby town
of Socorro and distributed flyers about the End Polio campaign of RI 3820.Basic information
about polio was distributed and questions from the people were answered by the RCV.It was
market day and there were many people who were enlightened why they should have positive
attitude and proper information about polio and how it can be prevented in their families.

The RCV donated a wheel chair to , residence of Poblacion 1. She has been a cripple since
birth and the parents cannot afford to provide her with a wheel chair to make her comfortable.
The RCV decided to award her the wheel chair which she deserves among others. There was so
much joy in the awardee and the parents were very grateful to RCV.

A Symposium and Clean-up Drive for a “Schistosomiasis Free Victoria” was participated by the
RCV in joint project with the Municipal Health Office . The activity was an information
dissemination campaign to instruct the barangay folks how to totally eradicate the disease which
is prevalent in the barangay. Likewise, a Clean-up Drive was conducted to sanitize the
surrounding areas and eradicate the existence of the carriers of the disease.

It was a very fulfilling gesture of love to barangay folks to teach them and give them needed

A Community Service on Basic Education and Literacy was conducted by RCV to the students
who are indigenous people and Tagalogs. The students do not have instructional materials to
supplement the teaching-learning process of students and teachers. A complete TV set was
provided by the RCV to these less privileged young people.Majority are Indigenous people or
Mangyans who do not know anything from the outside world and live in the mountainous area of
Victoria.

PROJECT
TITLE: Medical Mission to IPs and Barangay Folks of Loyal

The Society of Nurses based in Dubai and PP Ed of RC Batangas conducted a Medical Mission to the IPs and
Barangay folks of Loyal. The RCV was requested to assist in the mission by taking charge of the IP children
and elementary pupils of Loyal who were taught the proper handwashing and toothbrushing. They were also
treated to a sumptuous merienda. Pregnant and lactating mothers were also assisted by the RCV and lots of
grocery items, clothes, and medicine were given to them by the sponsors. The RCV also treated the children
with snacks.

TITLE: Outreach Program to the Old and Sick Seniors at the Aruga Foundation

The five RCs of Oriental Mindoro, RC Calapan, RC Downtown Calapan, RC Naujan West and Calapan, RC
Pinamalayan, and RC Victoria joined together to have an Outreach Program at Aruga Foundation. It is an
institution which adopts and takes care of abandoned senior citizens. They have no families and some are
sick. We joined together to give them our Pamaskong Handog. We brought oxygen tank, sacks of rice, cans of
biscuits, goods , food forlunch, health kits, and many others.

Our hearts were moved with pity as we visited the old and sick seniors housed in Aruga foundation. They
need love, care, and attention and we gave them while we stayed. We enjoyed at the thought that we made
happy these people,

TITLE: Pamaskong Handog ng RCV at DISTRICT 3820 “Tayo’y Magsaya at Pasko”

The RCV in coordination with District 3820 conducted a community service to Brgy. Duongan,
Victoria. This was the most devastated Barangay during the Typhoon Tisoy where houses and
rooftops were destroyed. Many got homeless and many rice fields, fruit trees and vegetable
farms were destroyed as well. At least we were able to ease their pain and enjoy Christmas with
our groceries,rice, water, school bags, and construction materials.

Related topics were discussed by the doctors . Pres Cecilia gave a very informative lecture about
family life. Pregnant mothers, babies and children were checked up. Proper vitamins and
medicines were also distributed by RCV. Babies and childen’s dresses were also distributed.
