Report on ICU equipment’s

Needed for any ICU chamber

RESUSCITATOR BAG:

These bags are used to inflate the lungs during procedure

including intubation. It is necessary for people having breathing
problem.
Syringe Driver/Syringe Pump:

This sophisticated pump is used to deliver small quantities of

intravenous medications and fluids.
And it can be automated. So the doctors or nurses don’t have
to go to the patient every time.
ENDOTRACHEAL TUBE/Breathing Tube:

An Endotracheal Tube is a long plastic tube used during invasive

ventilation. The tube is inserted placed through the mouth,
down through the throat and into the lungs during intubation.
BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF:

Critically ill patients need to have their blood pressure checked

regularly.
And we can make this automatic to help the doctors keep
distance as well as keep track of the patient.
Saturation Monitor:

A Saturation Monitor (Pulse Oximeter) is a device that

measures the oxygen saturation level in a patient’s blood. The
oxygen saturation level represents the amount of oxygen
carried in the blood.
SEQUENTIAL COMPRESSION DEVICES:

Sequential compression devices (SCD) are used in intensive care

to reduce the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the lower
limbs of critically ill patients.
It’s unlikely to use this device in case of corona affected.
INDWELLING URINARY CATHETER (IDC):

Intensive Care patients require the use of an Indwelling Urinary

Catheter (IDC) to measure the amount of urine they produce
and to control bladder function.
VENTILATOR:

Ventilators are commonly known as breathing machines

because they support patients to breathe for themselves, or
can take over breathing for a patient completely. Some people
also refer to them as life support machines, although this is not
strictly true.
Now this machine should be our main concern. Because this is
very rare, and if we can automate this one, it can save us a lot
of time and danger. As from a media source from Italy, when
they received so many incoming Corona Affected, It was hard
for them to provide ventilation to all.
ICU BEDSIDE MONITORS:

All patients admitted to the ICU are connected to a bedside

monitor during their stay. The ICU monitor, which looks like a
television or computer screen, provides ICU staff with real-time
information on important vital functions.
Beds:

The beds used in an Intensive Care Unit are specially designed

to be able to meet the unique needs of critically ill patients. The
ICU bed is designed to be able:
1. To transport critically ill, ventilated patients.
2. To support the patient comfortably
3. To provide room to carry portable oxygen cylinders,
suction equipment, emergency resuscitation equipment,
intravenous infusions and their pumps, as well as a
transport monitor and ventilator.

Airway Suction Pump:

Suction is used to remove fluids from the airways, to facilitate
breathing and prevent growth of microorganisms.

Sterilizer:
To destroy microorganisms in or on, usually by bringing to a
high temperature with steam, dry heat, or boiling liquid.

Chest Tube:
A chest tube is a flexible plastic tube that is inserted through
the chest wall and into the pleural space or mediastinum. It is
used to remove air, fluid, or pus from the intrathoracic space.

Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Monitor:

A device that monitors the pressure of the brain. It consists of a
small tube (catheter) attached to the patient's skull by a
ventriculostomy, subarachnoid bolt or screw and is then
connected to a transducer, which registers the pressure.
