In Pittsburg project, the deck of a bridge and pavement of the highway were to be replaced. The initial plan

was to work outward from each end of the overpass bridges while the highway surface was replaced

As a rsult access of equipment and concrete trucks o the overpass bridges was a considereable problem.

However, the highway work could be staged so that each overpass bridge was accessible from below at

prescribed times. By pumping concrete upto the overpass bridge deck from highway below, costs were r

educed and work was accomplished much more quickly.

Laser levelling Technology Choice

To improve productivity of excavation & grading.

Laser equipment is erected at site so that the relative height of mobile equipment is known exactly.

There is a receptor on the mobile equipment and a light will flash indicating level of blade, excavator bucket or

other piec of equipment.

Combined with electro hydraulic control systems the height of excavation and grading blades can be precisely

and automatically cotrolled in Buldozers, Graders and scrapers.

This can considerably reduce cost.

This systems permits the use of smaller machines and less skilled oeprators.

However the laser equiplent needs initial investment
