2. Problem Analysis
2015/2016 academic year was the first time Insight and Analysis of Natural Science
Course conducted in chemistry education study program. This course was delivered by
case studies and project in general. All of the students could attain all of the objectives in
their first attempt.
3. Solution
The learning process had been going well. This was indicated by the average student
achievement index of 3.96 in the very good category. However, there were still some
efforts to improve this subject so that they could develop their students' skills, by:
developing e-learning courses that were expected to develop student independence
enriching the most recent cases that should be analyzed to develop students' critical
thinking skills
providing opportunities for students to assess a case from various sides and
proposing alternative solutions in each case in learning so that students' creative
thinking skills could be improved
guiding students’ final project so that the process of achieving goals could be
directed correctly

b. Problem Analysis
All of the improvement suggestions had been implemented well, including by utilizing e-
learning courses through Be-smart, providing flexibility acecss for students in studying
cases, as well as mentoring in the final project work. However, the average student
achievement index had decreased, which was 3.96 in the previous academic year to 3.60
in the current academic year. This showed that some aspects of student learning
outcomes had decreased. Although, some student skills were recorded to have
increased, including independence, critical thinking skills, and creative thinking skills.
Students also stated that learning was took place more fun and interesting. E-learning
enable students to manage their own learning speeds. In addition, students also had the
opportunity to collaborate more broadly both in face-to-face meetings (3 ECTS), or
indirectly through discussion forums in Be-smart
c. Solution
Revisions to learning in the next following year, i.e:
