Fiber cement boards have taken the international
market by storm. The strong portfolio of advantages
make the product widely endorsed and appreciated
by architects and customers worldwide; many of
them are replacing plywood with fiber cement
boards. Fiber cement boards have been used in
some of the iconic buildings of our time as they
save time, money and being aesthetically more
beautiful in their appeal.

Multiple uses of the Vboard has taken this fibre

cement board utilities to the next level for use in
interior as well as exterior applications.

Vboard is a Non Asbestos, autoclaved product. These fibre
cement boards are manufactured by Hatschek process;
later the product is cured using HPSC technology. The
curing is done under high pressure steam to attain strength
and stability to the product. Vboard are composed of
a composite matrix containing special grade cellulose
fibres, ordinary Portland cement, fine silica, quartz, and
some mineral additives.

Vboard is manufactured to meet the requirements of IS

14862:2000. They are available in standard dimensions with
smooth and textured finishes to meet the requirements of
modern building applications.

Used as a replacement for RCC slabs, our 12mm
board is popularly used as an underlay roofing
application instead of Reinforced Cement
Concrete. The 12mm board is fixed using a self-
drilling screw and the roof will be finished using
clay tiles or shingles, like Saint Gobain.

lipping for protection, with hinges
and handles fixed by nuts and bolts.
There are two types of doors -
Flush door - which is a full door,
designed washrooms and has rural
applications, and Panel door - which

the bottom, designed for toilets and
has urban applications.

The simple working method of Vboard is as
easy as working with any other plywood or
particle board and you can hardly find any
difference – fastening is done much like any
other board and no special tools are needed
to do the same.

Steel supports can be used to fix Vboard
and thin cold roll formed steel sections in
the form of studs and tracks are available
in the market that can ideally be used for
applications like partitions, false ceilings,
floors etc.

timber supports with round wire nails.
Apilot hole must be pre-drilled for boards
with over 8mm thickness. The length of the
nail should be approximately be 2.5 to 3
times of the board used.

The recommended fixing distance between
two fixing points around the perimeter is
200 to 300mm. The fixing distance between

Slight dimensional changes might occur
due to shifting temperatures and relative
humidity in air to Vboard and therefore a
provision should be made in the joint by
allowing a gap of 2 to 3mm.

Vboard has an alkalinity pH value 11 to
13. So alkaline resistant glues or adhesives
are to be used for binding the board.

Almost all kinds of paints can be applied on

Vboard – distempers, acrylic resins, acrylic
emulsions, epoxy systems polyurethanes
and any other alkali resistant paint.

Vboard can be laminated or veneered by
using PVA binder (ex.white fevicol)

tiling
Ready to use tile adhesives are used to
fix the wall and floor tiles to Vboard. All
reputed brands like Dr.Fixit, Ardexendura,
Laticrete etc.
