ABSTRACT
The goal of this project was to implement the most efficient and less polluting
vehicle. In our project the hybrid electric vehicle model combines the internal
combustion engine of a conventional vehicle with the battery and electric motor of
an electric vehicle, resulting in twice the fuel economy of conventional vehicle. We
implement this hybrid electric vehicle concept for two wheelers.

INTRODUCTION
What is a hybrid? A hybrid vehicle combines any two power (energy) sources.
Possible combinations include diesel/electric, petrol/electric. Typically, one energy
source is storage, and the other is conversion of a fuel to energy. The combination of
two power sources may support two separate propulsion systems. Thus to be a True
hybrid, the vehicle must have at least two modes of propulsion. These two power
sources may be paired in series, meaning that the gas engine charges the batteries of an
electric motor that powers the car, or in parallel, with both mechanisms driving the car
directly.

LITRATURE SURVEY
Cuddy and Keith (2007) performed a parallel and series configured hybrid
vehicles likely feasible in next decade are defined and evaluated using a flexible
Advanced Vehicle Simulator (ADVISOR). Fuel economies of two diesel powered
hybrid vehicles are compared to a comparable technology diesel powered internal
combustion engine vehicle. The fuel economy of the parallel hybrid defined is 24%
better than the internal combustion engine vehicle and 4% better than the series
hybrid.

4
PROBLEM DEFINITION
In India, the rate of fossil is high compared to other countries and also
emission of vehicles causes air pollution in the environment. We have to achieve
maximum efficiency of the vehicle by using less amount of fuel and low emission
without drastic reduction in torque and power. Hence to achieve maximum
efficiency of the vehicle by using less amount of fuel, people prefer to use less
amount of fuel consumption and also polluting vehicles to travel in a sophisticated
manner.

WORKING

6
ADVANTAGES
• Lower emission and better mileage.

• Reduction of dependency of fossil fuels.

• Cheaper routine maintenance.

• Combining the best points of the electrical energy and IC engine for vehicle
propulsion

7
CONCLUSION
Hybrid cars are definitely more environmentally friendly than internal-combustion
vehicles. Batteries are being engineered to have a long life. When the hybrid cars
become more widespread, battery recycling will become economically possible.
Research into other energy sources such as fuel cells and renewable fuels make the
future look brighter for hybrid cars.
