A Story that influenced me

My name is Mohammad Sadav Imtiaz Alam. I was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh and I came to

Canada as a student to pursue my Bachelors in Computing Science.

A story that really influenced me as a child is the one about a farmers boy. It’s a pretty common

story. And I am pretty sure everyone has heard about it.

One day the boy was playing in the woods and all of a sudden, he decided to pull on a trick. So

what he did, he started screaming, “Tiger! Tiger! Help!”, as if he was being attacked by a tiger.

All the villagers who heard his cry ran towards him with anything they could find to beat up the

Tiger with. When they reached there, there was nothing and the boy was giggling at them. A few

days later, he decided to pull up the same trick, and received the same response again. Well he

laughed harder this time, and the villagers got a bit annoyed to be honest. So one fine day, when

the boy was playing in the woods, a tiger actually attacked him and when this time he shouted

for help; no one came for him. The villagers ignored him, thinking he might be pulling off

another trick on them. Later on the boy was found dead in the woods covered in blood.

My takeaway, from this story is that one should never deceive people no matter what the reason

is. Whether it be for fun, entertainment or even for self benefit. Because if we deceive someone

multiple times, they lose their trust in us. As a result, in time of our need we have no one beside

us to provide the shelter we need.
