Layout and Build Up of a Fuel Supply Unit for Engine Test Benches

Functional layout of a low pressure fuel supply unit for diesel and gasoline engine test benches to
ensure engine demand related fuel flow rate, fuel pressure and fuel temperature.

Base Test Bench: Modern engine test benches (AVL type)

Upgrade Item: Layout and build fuel supply unit for p = [-1bar, 10bar] and T = [20°C, 60°C]
Work Scope: Planning of work flow, design layout, parts selection and commissioning, build
up and functional testing of a fuel supply unit on an existing engine test bench.
Key Elements:
Understand modern diesel engines, fuel systems and engine test cells
Theoretical conception and practical build up of fuel supply unit hardware.
Execution of tests on engine test bench to verify function under all test conditions.

Good knowledge in modern diesel engine technology and test data evaluation strategies. Because our
in house language is English, enhanced English skills are necessary. In addition, it is mandatory to do
the entire technical documentation in English language.

Start: within 2012 Duration: 5 - 6 months
