INTRODUCTION
This document defines the requirements, deliverables, tasks, and scope of the work to be
delivered by a qualified VENDOR to the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES (DHS).
VENDOR shall provide the services necessary to accomplish all of the tasks and subtasks in
this Statement of Work (SOW) and to successfully install, configure, test, and implement all
of the solution components including, but not limited to, all associated software and/or
firmware, patches/fixes, and interfaces, post implementation support, technical and end‐
user training. VENDOR is responsible for all acts, and services required to provide DHS
with a fully functional System in accordance with the Manufacturer’s Specifications,
whether or not the acts or services required to do so are specifically identified as a task,
subtask, or deliverable in this Statement of Work, and unless otherwise expressly stated, all
work described in this Statement of Work shall be performed by VENDOR.
DHS is responsible for procuring and taking delivery of all required solution components
prior to commencement of installation and engineering services.
All configurations and integration work must be completed by VENDOR with the following
credentials and qualifications:
All equipment must be supplied in brand new, unused condition. All equipment must come
from the manufacturer with full USA manufacturer warranty and USA manufacturer
technical support. Equipment shall not be gray market.
VENDOR shall provide a full time (40 hours/week onsite) Lead Consultant with Technical
Leadership with overarching project management, pre‐implementation advisory services,
design and planning, implementation assistance, for all VDI Project components including
those from VCE, VMware, AppSense, EMC and Cisco for 12 months. VENDOR Lead
Consultant shall provide a detailed VDI Phase 2 design document within four weeks upon
receipt of purchase order.

Activities under this task shall include, but not be limited to, the following services:
VENDOR shall provide onsite/remote technical resources that will deliver and be
responsible for unpacking, installing, testing and integrating of all VCE Vblock converged
infrastructure components including integration into DHS Facilities. VENDOR shall be
responsible, at its expense, for obtaining any and all governmental licenses or permits that
may be required for carrying out the installation at DHS Facilities. VENDOR shall deliver
and transfer any and all Documentation and licenses for software, firmware, utility
programs, and any and all other software provided by the manufacturer as well as
warranties for all of the components.
The Vblock deploy and implementation service will provide collaborative planning, design,
and onsite/remote deploy and implementation services for Vblock Systems. The Service
will align the scalability, flexibility, and cost saving associated with Vblock Systems to
operational objectives. Best practices and proven processes are to be followed to ensure
non‐disruptive integration of Vblock Systems into the DHS environment. This Service is to
also include VCE advanced professional services for RCM software upgrade. RCM software
upgrade must be delivered by VCE only.

Activities under this task shall include, but not be limited to, the following services:
Perform the onsite deploy and implementation of each Vblock System up to and
including VMware vSphere ESXi.
Implement the physical AMP, known as AMP‐2P, for a Vblock System 340.
Install VCE Vision™ Intelligent Operations software on the Vblock System.
Conduct interactive knowledge‐transfer sessions.
Provide a listing of all components that were installed including equipment type,
model number, serial number, location, name, version number, and license number.
The manufacturer's valid USA warranties.
Certification that all components are installed and operating properly according to
VCE specifications.
Provide all reference and operating manuals and all other documentation pertaining
to the operation of the equipment.
Provide any and all manufacturer maintenance and technical support availability
and telephone numbers.
Satisfactorily prove that all provided equipment is not gray market.
Vendor shall provide certified and experienced consultant to implement VMware View
software and storage acceleration software. The key deliverables for this service include:
VENDOR shall provide (3) training classes for up to twelve DHS personnel across the DHS
facilities. VENDOR will deliver training services either at VENDOR’s training facilities in the
Greater Los Angeles Area or at DHS specified locations. DHS will notify Vendor the training

classes it wants for its staff. The training will include but not be limited to management
and administration of Vblock systems for VDI.
VENDOR shall provide Cisco certified engineering resources to design, plan, implement and
customize the Cisco UCS Director software solution for the DHS VDI converged
infrastructure.
Planning and sizing of the DHS VDI solution for Cisco UCS Director for this phase
and future phases
Implementation of Cisco UCS Director management servers for the DHS VDI
infrastructure with automated workflows to increase IT consistency and speed
Testing of the Cisco UCS Director environment for the DHS VDI infrastructure
Documentation of the Cisco UCS Director environment
Train DHS IT on usage, best practices for the Cisco UCS Director environment
VENDOR shall provide EMC certified engineering resources to design, plan, implement and
customize the EMC Data Domain and Networker solution for backup and recovery of the
DHS VDI converged infrastructure.
Planning and design of the Backup and Recovery solution for the DHS VDI Phase 2.
Configuration of Networker software for backing up to EMC Data Domain
Testing of the EMC Data Domain and Networker environment for the DHS VDI
infrastructure
Provide Documentation of the Backup and Recovery design
Train DHS IT on usage, best practices for the Backup and Recovery environment for
the DHS VDI environment
