Overall stability Wind load 07-A Determine the overall transverse wind force on an office
building as the total resultant on each floor diaphragm and and roof
diaphragm.
Horizontal load distribution 07-B Calculate the horizontal reaction acting at each stabilizing
wall at each floor due to the overall transverse wind force at the
diaphragms above level 0 – 3.
Stabilizing walls 07-C Show the result on elevations of each stabilizing wall above
the basement.
08-A Show destabilizing forces from exercise 07 together with
stabilizing forces on elevations of each stabilizing wall.
08-B Check shear capacities and moment capacity for each wall
element in level 0 – 3 for the two most critical stabilizing walls in the
system according to exercise 07. Calculate eventually needed
additional shear capacities and vertical reinforcement capacities at
each level.
08-C Show the resulting forces from 08-B acting on the substrure.
Floor diaphragms 09-A Suggest an arrangement of stringer reinforcements and
ties in floor diaphragm above level 0.
See voids for stairs attached.
09-B Suggest a suitable arrangement of additional walls in
basement (office building only) to ensure adoption of earth and
water pressure acting at the substrure.
09-C Estimate needed capacity of main stringers in floor
diaphragm above basement in office building.

DOCUMENTATION OF STATICS – PART 1: MAIN REPORT
Structural details Slab joint solutions 10-A Suggest wall/slab joint solutions, sections A and B
above level -1, considering horizontal reactions from earth and
ground water pressure.
10-B Suggest wall/slab joint solutions, sections A and B
above level 3, considering horizontal reactions from wind
suction
Local slab solution 10-C Suggest a local solution for the floor slab at the plan
section marked
Wall joint solution 10-D Estimate vertical normal force capacity of wall joints,
sections C and D, in stabilizing walls assuming joint concrete
fck = 25 MPa.
