Terms of Business
All goods and services provided by AsureQuality Motabaqah are on the basis of the terms set out
below unless otherwise agreed to in writing.
In the event of any conflict between these terms and any subsequent written contract between
AsureQuality Motabaqah and the Customer, the terms of the subsequent written contract shall
prevail.

Microbiology Testing
AQM offers a comprehensive range of accredited microbiological analyses for products ranging from
raw materials through to finished products.

Testing techniques
• Enumeration by pour plate, spread plate and most probable number techniques

Chemistry Testing
AQM offers a comprehensive range of accredited chemical analyses to the food industry including

• Nutritional Information Panels (NIPs) – We provide accurate information about the nutrient
composition of a product including sodium, ash, carbohydrates, dietary fibre, energy, fat,

Within our laboratory network we test over 1000 product types for a wide range of pesticide
residues.
Veterinary Medicines
Within our laboratory network we test meat, milk, food and honey products for residues from a
wide range of veterinary medicines.

Scope of testing offered
• Multi-residue - these quantitative screens provide the opportunity to test agricultural

products for a wide range of pesticides in a single test
• Dithiocarbamate fungicides - used widely on a range of crops due to their high efficiency in
controlling plant fungal diseases
• Acidic herbicides - used extensively to control agricultural weeds.
• Paraquat, diquat, glyphosate etc.

Veterinary Medicines
Within our laboratory network we test meat, milk, food and honey products for residues from a
wide range of veterinary medicines to ensure that the quality of the product meets international
standards.
Scope of testing offered
Most food safety authorities around the world regulate the use of the following veterinary
medicines. They require food producers to certify that their products are meet supermarket
Minimum Required Level (MRL) standards.
• Antibiotics - including aminoglycosides, phenicols and nitrofurans

• Anthelmintics - including benzimidazoles, salicylanilides and macrocyclic lactones
• Hormonal agents - including steroids and beta-agonists
• Poisons - including 1080 and anticoagulants
• Other vet meds - including non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and sedatives.
Testing Techniques
We deliver accurate, cost-effective, reliable and timely results including:
• Microbial inhibition testing (MIT)

• Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
• High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
• Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS??)

In addition, our team has experience in developing methods for detecting compounds in a wide
range of products.
Contaminant Testing
We test both food and environmental samples for contaminants and persistent organic pollutants.
Our laboratory network has assisted in projects worldwide to determine the levels of contaminants
arising from industrial and agri-chemicals, process by-products and those chemicals subject to
the Stockholm Convention. This includes the capability to assist with sample analysis for exposure
and risk assessment projects related to impact on plant, animal, ecosystem and human populations.
AQM considers requests for method development for special projects that may arise on a case-by-
case basis.

We offer specialist testing for ultra-trace level and trace level testing for groups of compounds.
Testing Techniques
We use methodologies that include or are based on USEPA, EN/BS/ISO, CARB, VIN, JIS, NIOSH and in-
house methods.
Food contaminants
We test:
• Pesticides, veterinary medicines, industrial chemicals, process by-products and other

organic pollutants
• Toxins
• Microbiological quality assessment (general microbiology and pathogens)
• Seafood & aquaculture for chemicals of concern such as malachite green,
leucomalachite green, gentian violet, nitrofurans
• Bioaccumulating POPs (dioxins, dioxin-like PCBs, BFRs, PFCs etc) which are of key
concern to feeds and dietary intake pathways
• Adulterants (such as Melamine etc)
• Plasticisers
• Quaternary Ammonium Compounds (QACs) in dairy products, oil and fruit.
• Non-approved colours (such as Sudan Dyes)
• DCD in dairy products
• Detergent residues
• Packaging chemicals.

Toxin Testing
AQM are experts in identifying toxins present in your food samples and we will help you to

• Marine biotoxins in fish and shellfish

• Mycotoxins in food
Testing techniques
Our team uses advanced instrumental and ELISA-based technology to detect Mycotoxins such as
aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, fumonisins, zearalenone, trichothecenes (T-2 toxin) and deoxynivalenol
(DON).
Marine biotoxins are tested using instrumental and kit methods.

Forensics Analysis
When contamination occurs you need to minimise downtime, reduce the risk of product recall, and
help get things back to normal as quickly as possible – helping protect consumers and your brand.
The AQM laboratory network offers specialist identification of physical, chemical and biological food
and environmental contaminants across a range of industry sectors.
Scope of Testing
• Physical - e.g. glass, plastic, metal fragments, fibres, etc. even the smallest particles less than
the size of a pin-head can be examined
• Chemical – e.g. chemical contamination, taints and odours
• Biological – e.g. pests/insects / animal remains, plant material microbiological growths,.
Testing techniques
We use a combination of analytical techniques to help determine the origin of the contaminant,
assure safety, or provide leads for further investigation.

• Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy/ Microscopy (FTIR)
• Scanning Electron Microscopy - Energy dispersive x-ray analysis (SEM-EDX)
• Gas chromatography (MS, FID, ECD)
• Liquid chromatography (MSn, Ion trap, UV, Fluorescence)
• X-ray diffraction/fluorescence (XRD/XRF)
