The aim of this guide is to ensure your account(s) stay safe and secure. We will keep this short, but give you as
much information as you need to keep an account secure and avoid problems. We will at times give you a few
options to choose from ranging from the easiest option to the advanced option (we do list everything step by step
regardless), please read through every option as you can then decide which option is more suitable to you.
Cookies
What are they? - Each cookie is effectively a small lookup table containing pairs of (key, data) values - for example
(first name, John) (last name, Smith). Once the cookie has been read by the code on the server or client
computer, the data can be retrieved and used to customise the web page appropriately.
The purpose of the cookie is to help the website keep track of your visits and activity. For example, eBay and
PayPal use cookies to keep a record of your most recent visit or to record your login information. It isn’t a bad
thing, but not removing or understanding cookies can get your accounts linked.
Many people find cookies useful so that they can store passwords on commonly used sites, or simply so they
know what they have visited or downloaded in the past.
IP address
What is it? - An IP address provides an identity to a networked device. Similar to a home or business address
supplying that specific physical location with an identifiable address, devices on a network are differentiated from
one another through IP addresses.
This means that eBay and PayPal know that you have logged into your account with that IP address and if you use
the same one to log into your new account they will know that you have access or have used the other account,
later we explain how to change your IP address.
1. Click on the Start button. This is the small round button in the lower left corner of your screen that has a
Windows flag on it.
2. Click on the Control Panel menu option.
3. Click on the Add or remove user accounts control panel option.
4. You will now be in the Manage Accounts control panel.
This screen shows all the accounts currently on your computer. To create a new account, click on
the Create a new account option.
5. You will now be on the Create New Account screen.
1. In the New account name field enter the name of the new account that you would like to create.
This could be a person's first name, full name, or whatever other designation you would like to give.
You then need to decide which of the two types of accounts you would like to create.
2. An Administrator account has full access to the computer and can make all changes, install software,
and create and delete accounts.
3. A Standard user and has limited privileges as to what settings and changes it can make to the
computer. It is suggested that for all users, you set them as a Standard User account and have one
administrator account that you can log in to as needed. This will protect your computer from
malware and other harmful activities.
4. When you have finished selecting a name and the type of account you wish to setup, you should click
on the Create Account button.
Your new account will have been created and you will see it listed in the Manage Accounts screen.
Now when you start Windows 7 or Vista, you will see the additional account listed in the login screen. That user
can then select their login name and login into their profile so they can access their private data.
First, we will need to disable Flash Player… (the below steps might be slightly different for Mac users)
1. Click on the start button again and then click control panel (search control panel for windows 10)
2. Change the view by clicking the drop-down menu next to ‘View by:’ and change the option to ‘Large icons’
3. Wait for the page to load and then click ‘Flash Player’ (if you have let the page load and Flash Player
doesn’t show this means you have not installed Flash Player and therefore can skip this step)
4. Once the Flash Player Settings Manager has loaded, you now want to ‘Block all sites from storing
information on this computer’ (it may give you a popup with a warning but click ‘OK’), you may need to do
this twice.
5. Now click ‘Delete All…’ just below those options (a popup will appear, ensure all options are ticked and
press ‘Delete Data’)
6. You now need to repeat step 4 for the ‘Camera and Mic’ and ‘Playback’ options.
You have now stopped Flash Player from storing any data on your computer so you can now close control panel
and the Flash Player Settings Manager.
Second, we will download a program called ‘CCleaner’ to remove all cookies stored on your computer.
1. Go to > https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
For Mac > https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner-mac (the below steps might be slightly different)
2. Download the program (the free version will work fine)
3. Install and then load the program
4. Once loaded you want to ensure all the options are ticked for the browser(s) you have on your computer
and then click ‘Run Cleaner’ a popup might so, but just click continue.
Step 2 – Before Accessing your account
Now that you have read through each option and picked the best for you, it is time to download an image
cleaner so they cannot trace you via the images you upload and we will explain how to change your IP address.
First, we will need to download another program to clean all your images
1. Go to > https://exifcleaner.en.softonic.com/
For Mac > https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/exifpurge/id784466108?mt=12 (the below steps might be
slightly different)
2. Download and install the program
3. Whenever you want to upload an image to either eBay or PayPal you need to ensure you run it through
the cleaner
4. Once you have added the images and then pressed ‘Quick Clean’ the images will be saved in the same
place the images where located, but the name of the file will be changed as they add ‘_cleaned’ to the
end, you should now rename the file something completely different.
5. You can either delete the old images or move them to a different folder (just ensure you do not upload
the originals)
6. Once you have cleaned, changed the name of an image you can then upload it to eBay or PayPal
Secondly, we are going to need to change your IP address and this can be done in several ways (We recommend
purchasing a VPN).
1. Change your IP address from your router (the device that gives you broadband)
i. To change the IP address of your router (if it can – some routers don’t allow you to change the IP
address, so if this happens you will need to skip to the other options, but please try the following)
ii. Type ‘my IP Address’ in Google, you should see your IP address directly on Google, if not click on
the first link
iii. Then turn your router off for around 5-10 minutes and switch it back on
iv. Type ‘my IP Address´ again in google and see if it has changed if so you can use that new IP address
as long as you never log into your old account(s) (eBay and PayPal and any of their other websites)
or open any old emails from eBay or PayPal.
2. Purchase a dongle either from your local Argos, Curry’s etc or get a monthly plan (dongles will change
IP address every time it is disconnected from the internet and if you are using several accounts it is
recommended to keep a log of all the IP’s for each account – this can be done in Excel)
3. Purchase a VPN
i. If you would prefer a dedicated Fresh IP address you can purchase a new IP address, we only
recommend one supplier (YOU CANNOT USE A NORMAL OR FREE VPN AND IF YOU USE ANY
OTHER VPN YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK) – this is also a good option for those using
accounts in different countries, because you can pick an IP address from any country (you must
use a VPN if you are outside of the chosen account country).
We would recommend purchasing a VPN - We have partnered with a VPN supplier which has
created a VPN for eBay and PayPal accounts, please see here > https://onovpn.com/StealthBuy
(you will also receive a discount off all the normal packages)
If you use a VPN please see the below links to block webRTC (sites can see your real IP address if that is
enabled)
- For all different browsers https://whoer.net/blog/article/how-to-disable-webrtc-in-various-
browsers/
- If using Firefox Portable - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/happy-bonobo- disable-
webrtc/
You can’t use a normal VPN as many are labelled as ‘high risk’ by eBay and PayPal, you also can’t use shared
VPN’s (most are shared) as you will be using the same IP address as thousands of other users and if one of those
people use or have issues with eBay and/or PayPal, so will you.
NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Hotspot Shield, IPVanish, CyberGhost, TunnelBear, Windscribe, Private Internet Access,
VyprVPN, KeepSolid, Ivacy, Hide All IP, HideMyAss!, Hide My IP, StrongVPN.
Create backups of all files received as we do not keep copies for your security.
Also inside the folder, you will have the Firefox Portable browser used to create the account (this has already
built up cookies) to access the Portable browser click into the folder labelled ‘Firefox Portable’ and then locate
the ‘FirefoxPortable.exe’ file and double click that file. This will load up the browser.
If for some reason you do not want to use the Firefox Portable browser you can login using the information in the
Excel file.
If you have problems unzipping your files please download WinZip from the following…
For PC and Laptop download here > http://www.winzip.com/win/en/download-winzip.html
For iOS users download here > https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/winzip/id500637987?mt=8
For Android download here > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.winzip.android&hl=en_GB
Once you have received your account(s), please proceed to set some security questions. We leave a section on
the excel file free for you do to this, please ensure these are new and always keep backups of the excel file to
ensure you always have access to your account(s).
Step 3b – Purchased an eBay only account?
How to attach an old PayPal account to your new eBay account we recommend doing the following…
1. Unlink the old eBay account (if possible - it is important not to do this on the new user and new IP
created)
2. Change the PayPal email address and remove the old one
3. Wait a few days before adding the new eBay account
4. Add the old PayPal account in the eBay listings payment options for each item.
5. Remove old automatic eBay payments, Settings (gear icon) > Payments > Manage pre-approved
payments > then remove any linked eBay accounts
Step 3c – Purchased PayPal only account? - (how quickly should you receive money and more)
The same principle applies here as it does to step 9, you should show slow steady growth over a rapid increase in
sales. We don’t recommend receiving more than £1,000 - £2,000 in the first 2-3 months, the slower you can do
the better.
1. For both, you must remove the recurring eBay payment within PayPal, to do this, please follow…
2. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
3. Click ‘Profile’ (gear icon) near the top of the page.
4. Select ‘My money’.
5. In the ‘My preapproved payments’ section, click ‘Update’.
6. Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel.’
7. Click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request.
If you have linked your website with your old banned PayPal account you won’t be able to link the new account
as this can link and ban the new account, instead, you should look at either using another third-party system (e-
junkie or an all in one gateway solution) they will mask your website. You can be more creative if you know how
to code or know a good developer. If you use websites like Shopify it might be slightly harder but do look into
third- party gateways – we cannot recommend what to use for your website.
How to attach an old eBay account to your new PayPal account we recommend doing the following...
1. Unlink the old PayPal account (it is important not to do this on the new user and new IP created)
4. Wait for a few days before adding the new PayPal account
5. Add the new PayPal account in the eBay listings payment options for each item.
Step 4 – Understanding eBay and PayPal
eBay and PayPal are mostly automated, which means that no human is looking at your account, but if you do
certain things this will trigger a red flag on your account and then one of eBays / PayPal’s staff will look at your
account. If this happens your account could be suspended or limited, but if you follow this guide you should not
run into these problems.
Whenever you start a new account with eBay or PayPal you will need to build trust, keeping the same IP (dongles
will be fine even though they change IP’s) and cookies will help build trust, but log into your new eBay or PayPal
account from different browsers with different cookies may lead you into trouble and this is why we advise using
Firefox Portal, as it keeps all your cookies in one place.
PayPal cannot see the name on the account when you make withdrawals from PayPal to a bank account. Simply
attach the bank account and confirm with the codes provided by PayPal. Never load money onto your PayPal
account from your bank account otherwise, PayPal will see the mismatching names and suspend your account
instantly – always keep a balance in PayPal to pay any fees.
We advise using Halifax Online Saver or Everyday Saver, both can be managed online alternatively, you can use
Santander, Barclays, NatWest or HSBC.
Step 6 – Paying for items on eBay or PayPal
We advise either purchasing a ‘Reloadable VCC’ online that you can top up at any time or visit your local
supermarket and purchase a Vanilla Gift Card (either Visa or MasterCard will work) – you can also use your PayPal
balance.
We only recommend purchasing a ‘collection only’ or Argos pickup items (do not input your own address).
You should be in a new user account/computer or virtual machine, with a new IP, completed Step 1 and received
your new user profile from us including your new Firefox Portable browser at this point. Good, now it’s time to
add your bank account and confirm (you can wait till later if you like). PayPal will deposit 1p into your bank
account with a code, use this code to confirm your bank account.
Once you've confirmed your bank account, log into eBay for the first time and click on listings similar to what you
want to sell, click on other sellers. You want to act as if you are researching similar products to what you are going
to sell and that you're on eBay for the first time in your life. This is how you build cookies on your computer – we
advise doing this for the first two weeks or as long as you can. We understand that you want to start listing and
making money straight away, but this will protect your account in the long run.
Warning: Do not change the following account information (name, email, mailing address, ID, (you can if you like
change the password, but we do recommend keeping it to same for the first 60-90 days, just ensure you update
the excel file) you can change the mobile number, but do not change it for the first 60 days, we recommend 90
days. You need to establish trust before you can change these details, otherwise, you're asking for trouble – we
do not go into any accounts we sell after it is transferred to you and we do not keep copies of any account
information (everything is handed over to you).
You can change the address on the account later down the line, but ensure it is not one that has been used on a
banned account and you must be able to provide proof of address when PayPal (and sometimes eBay) requests
you to do so.
Before listing, make sure you have cleaned any images you are going to use as described.
Your first item for sale will ALWAYS need to be a low risk and low-value item. Anything of low value can be used,
but stuff like used t-shirts, socks, accessories, random toy, a random book can be a quick way to sell stuff and
build trust, you could even visit your local £1 store. Take a picture of it yourself and don't forget to clean the
image before you upload it to eBay. Never use other listing images or stock images from Google. You can even
take a loss on whatever random item you're trying to sell, you're just doing this to get your first few sales and to
show eBay that you are low risk.
You'll get a buyer that leaves you great feedback because they got a great deal. Do this for the next 1-2 weeks (or
longer if you can).
Start with 1 listing a day, don't list 3+ quantities of any single item for at least the first 30 days of active selling
history. You need to be listing unique single low-risk, low-valued items for the 3rd and 4th week. The point of this
is to show eBay you're a safe person, while simultaneously accepting your first few payments on PayPal. Always
advertise accurate conditions of the product you're selling and always ship fast and keep good customer service.
Keeping happy customers is the 2nd most important thing (avoiding automatic eBay and PayPal bots/reviews are
first) of having a strong eBay account. Customers just want to be treated right and they want good deals. That's
all it takes to keep customers happy. Ship fast, and always respond fast and friendly to any questions.
After you have done this for at least 2 weeks, it is now time to start selling your items, but make sure you start
slow, we would advise listing one at a time over the next two weeks. You can list a few different items at any one
time, but wait till they sell before listing the same item again. After another 2 weeks have passed you can now
start doubling the number of listings you have live every couple of weeks until your account is 90 days old, but
still, keep it slow and don’t just suddenly go from 25 to 250 listings.
At this point, you should have a good standing account with lots of positive feedback. By doing all this, you're
putting yourself in the best possible position and you will most likely never have issues.
You have to gradually do this and naturally grow the history of the account. Assuming your customers are happy
and you're shipping fast, and receiving great feedback, you'll have absolutely no issues with your account and
will last you a lifetime.
Step 9 – Handling your eBay Fees
This part is important because it's often overlooked and can lead to getting your account suspended. The best
way of paying your fees is with one-time credit card payments paid 1-2 days after you show a balance on your
account. Don't wait until you're automatically billed, instead just pay the fees as soon as you can. You can
purchase Visa or MasterCard gift cards at most local supermarkets.
The alternative is to use your PayPal account to pay the fees. This is perfectly fine but you have to understand 1
important thing. If you have funds "pending" or on "hold" or don't have the available funds in your PayPal
account, it will attempt collecting fees from your bank account. If this happens, your account will get
suspended/limited because the bank will deny the request and show the names on the account do not match.
You can withdraw money from PayPal to your bank account with mismatching names without a problem, but if it
happens the other way around the account is limited / suspended. So, if you're going to use PayPal to pay for
your fees, ALWAYS make sure you have plenty of available funds to cover them (we don’t recommend paying
eBay fees with PayPal if you attached a different PayPal account).
If you have purchased an eBay only account it will come with a VCC registered to the eBay account and will use
that to pay fees (this won’t work), it is important to either follow the first part and use your own VCC or gift card.
If you have Purchased a PayPal only account and still using your own eBay account you can either simply add your
own card to your eBay account to pay the fees.
Step 10 – Withdrawing money from PayPal
We always advise doing this part slowly and for the first 3 months use the 80/20 rule, take out 80% and leave
20% in your PayPal account. You also don’t want to withdraw any more than £500 in the first month and then any
more than £1,000 in the next month and £1,5000 for the third month. You don't want to receive money and
immediately withdraw it or send it to another PayPal account. Remember, you don't want to trigger anything
with eBay or PayPal, the idea is to stay under the radar and never have issues. Don’t send money as a gift to other
accounts as a lot of user abuse this function and it may raise flags against your account. After you establish
history for 3-4 months of activity you'll be able to withdraw several times a week without any issues, take out
more than 80% in a single month, but also keep a little behind.
It is vital that you don’t keep too much in your account within the first 2/3 months and the above directly relates
to the amount you should be selling within that time, but if you sell more ensure you withdraw more – you don’t
want to make a mistake somewhere and then get the account limited and lose the money in the account, but as
long as you follow this guide you shouldn’t have those issues.
You can also withdraw by purchasing Bitcoins or items if adding a bank account is not an option. If you would like
to withdraw by buying bitcoins search online to see which providers let you use PayPal to purchase Bitcoins. You
can then either get a Bitcoin debit card to withdraw at card machine or use a service to transfer to your bank
account – we cannot advise how to do this, but please search for the best option for you.
Step 11 – Emails and accessing eBay and PayPal from other devices
Simply put, we do not advise this. Always sign into your account from the same user and Firefox Portal browser to
avoid any problems.
If you must sign in from another browser or mobile, then make sure you have disabled images. There is an option
in every email client that allows plain text with no images. If you're going to view emails from other clients, you
have to make 100% sure images are not showing up by disabling the feature. Always respond to messages
through the eBay.co.uk or .com messages / my eBay page, and never through email or any other client.
Never access your new account with any phone or any other device like mobile/iPad/tablet. Keep all access to the
account from the Firefox Portal browser.
Step 12 – Changing account password or information
If you've waited 90 days and built enough history, you can change your account password. Make sure not to
forget it. If you need to change the address or mobile number you can do that too (make sure it’s not the same as
any previous accounts), just don't change the name on the account as that will trigger flags. If you change the
address, make sure to also add the 2nd address to the PayPal account shortly after as a secondary address. It's
not recommended to change any account information as it can lead to manual reviews.
Try to avoid creating listings and then taking them down. Avoid cancelling orders which will lower your overall
seller metrics. Avoid returns if possible, offer buyers partial refunds to settle orders in hopes that they will keep
the products and not have to return them.
eBay and PayPal are very easy to work with as long as you understand the guidelines above. You need to establish
yourself as a low-risk seller before eBay will give you the opportunity to sell heavy volume. This is just business
and if you think about it, it makes perfect sense.
Extra – EU Lifting Service
If you have purchased a PayPal account by itself or in the eBay and PayPal package you will have a 2,500
euro limit which once reached will require you to lift this limit by submitting documents to confirm some
information on the account, we have a dedicated service for this which you can request at any point by
emailing us at info@stealthbuy.co.uk, please ensure that you include your order number in the subject to
speed up the process.
The service can take up to 5 working days (working days are Monday to Friday) and we will update you
with the documents via email, from then you will be able to upload the documents to PayPal (please
ensure you run them through the image cleaner first and rename).
It is up to you when you use the service, but sometimes it is better to do it sooner and when doing so you
should ensure you withdraw most of the money and slow down sales because when they look at the
documents they will also look into the account and if there is anything you have done to raise red flags or
link your account then it can cause issues or delay the process, but as long as you have fully followed this
guide you shouldn’t have those issues.
