BATTLE OF BREADBOARDS

DESCRIPTION:

This is an event which involves complex circuit analysis and the skills to perform and execute the theoretical laws practically
using analog and digital devices and components. As the name suggests, it is an event which will tell us about our understanding
about circuits and their implementation.

The participant must have a thorough knowledge of the following topics:

 P-N junction diodes and their various applications

 Junction transistor and its all the configurations(CB,CE,CC)
 Transistor as an amplifier
 Transistor as an oscillator
 BJT biasing
 Capacitors and resistors and how to calculate their values
 Implementation of digital circuits using NAND, NOR, OR, AND IC’s etc.
 Implementation of digital circuits like half adder, full adder, halfsubtractor, full subtractor etc.

The event comprises of 2 rounds:

 In the first round, the team would be given a circuit on the breadboard with the basic electronics components like
resistors, transistors, diodes, capacitors etc. The team members have to draw an equivalent circuit on the paper
mentioning the values of all the components used in the circuit like resistors, capacitors etc. The time limit for this
round would be 10 minutes.
 In the second round, the team members would be given a complex analog or digital circuit and they have to make the
equivalent circuit on the breadboard. The time limit for this round would be 15 minutes.
So come on guys……if you have the love for wires…..this event is for you…..beat the board……
RULES:
 The contest is open to students of all branches; candidates must be a current student with a valid student ID.
 Entries for contest must be received by the due date.
 Each team would comprise of 2 members.
 The time limit for first round is 10 minutes and that of second round is 20 minutes.
 The team with the minimum fault identification would be the winner.
 The participants have to mention the correct values of the electronic components used in the circuit.
 Values of the components should be calculated manually.
 The decision of the judges shall be final and binding.

FRIENDLY MICROCONTROLLER

Once there was a microcontroller. He was very intelligent, he could do long calculations in seconds; he could store many
information at one time. He was so talented that he had knowledge of every field. But he had no friends for helping him, he was
very sad for that. But one day when he was doing some calculations he met LED; they become friends and started working
together. Days passed with them working together but now LED was feeling tired and was not able to handle the task which
microcontroller was working on then she called her friend 7-Segment, who had just completed her education from college in the
field of displaying data. She joined LED and Microcontroller team. They all were now making it easy observe and display of
data. Days Passed and now workload was increasing more and more, even 7-segment was not able to understand the new
language in which microcontroller was talking. So, after all the discussion invitation was sent to LCD, she knew more about the
world and knew more language and eat very less then LED and 7-Segment but could do more work than both of them. So, now
mostly all the task of displaying was given to the LCD, but microcontroller never left his old friends, for basic problems he
always goes to LED and 7-Segment.

Story doesn’t end here, they met more friends and still new friends are coming to their family, but that story some another time.

Do you know who the person who made this all friendship possible?
It was one of YOU!!!

Want to make this story to happen again, come and meet “Friendly Microcontroller” at ECE department on
…………………………...
