INTRODUCTION:
The Ramco Cements Ltd is the flagship company of the Ramco Group, a business group based in
Chennai, South India. The main product of the company is Portland cement, manufactured in
eight state-of-the art production facilities that includes Integrated Cement plants and Grinding
units with a current total production capacity of 16.5 million MTPA with 10 manufacturing
facilities across India.
The company is engaged in sale of surplus electricity generated from its windmills and thermal
power plants after meeting its captive requirements. The company was incorporated in the year
1957. The company caters mainly to the domestic markets.

NEED FOR THE STUDY:


A study on marketing strategies and competitor’s analysis will help the organization to find out
its potential market and it helps to analyze the competitor’s strategies and their potentiality, their
strengths and weaknesses. It also helps to know the consumer perception towards the product of
the organization and competitors brand as well. It would help to identify the opportunities to an
organization and assess its standing among the competitors. While formulating the strategies
organization must analyze the competitors.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:


This study is aimed to find out the marketing strategies and competitors analysis with special
reference to Ramco cements limited
The biggest challenge an organization ever have is competitors and many organizations have
failed to sustain in the market because of threat of competitors, so to understand the strategies,
technology, efficiency, strengths and weaknesses, the competitors analysis must require. Because
of competitors the company cannot able to achieve its target and could not able to satisfy needs
and desires of customers and couldn’t able to gain enough profit and able to control over its
expenditure. So, to sort out these problems this above study is very much essential.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:


1. To analyze the current market status of Ramco cements in comparison with other competitors
2. To analyze the marketing strategies of Ramco cements limited
3. To analyze the strengths, weaknesses and marketing strategies of competitors.

SAMPLING SIZE
The respondents to the sampling size is 100.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
Sources of data: - Data is the fact of an event. Data is the base for every research work. The data
is mainly classified into two groups.
Primary Data: The primary data will be collected from the respondents by administrating a
structured questionnaire and also through observation, interview and discussion with the
concerned staff.
Secondary Data: Books, journals, websites etc., will be consulted for getting relevant data. The
researcher will adopt the following of methods to obtain other data.

TOOLS FOR DATA COLLECTION


 Library Research:
In this the study is undertaken the review of previous studies and carried out study of available
literature on the subject.

 OBSERVATION

To/analyze/the/data, responses to the will be categorized and tabulated suitably. The table thus
formed will give the pattern of responses.
